Interesting to see the Maserati in that list, its the first suggestion I've seen that the ACO will allow it to compete at Le Mans.

Is Penske planning on going to Le Mans?

They invited the 2006 FIA GT champions, a Maserati team, for this year, but they withdrew.

99.9%, no :( I believe only the European teams who bought RS Spyders will try and be invited.

I suspect it's more likely that Vitaphone will either not take the entry up, or lease something else that's ACO-legal for Le Mans....

Forgive my ignorance here, but does one entry invite mean one car (ie Audi North America have 2 invites = 2 entries, Pescarolo have 1 invite = 1 car)?

Obviously I know more will be added to bring it up to the 55 entry limit.

yes, these are the guaranteed entries offered to teams based on 2007 reults- usually the class winners/top two in each class in ALMS and LMS, class winners in FIA GT etc. 1 invite = 1 car

You sure on that Harv,is it ROgers descision or Porsche North AMerica decision or whose? They have the races won to get an invite, and they should, but I am tired of not seeing the spyders in the greatest race in the world.

I think its was Porsches decision, I think they'd rather win overall than winning LMP2 in the race, but I think its time Porsche would make a Porsche Coupe to win Lemans again

First time in 5 year that Petersen White Lightning have NOT been invited, let’s hope they find a sponsor and return next year. The PWL team bring a lot of experience to Le Mans, they where missed last year.
