Sorry if this has been posted and discussed before but.....

Did he do this on purpose? As in he saw the fella catching him and then decided to put paid to that?
He is into reverse right around the blind corner, pauses for a second and then reverses as soon as the other Evo gets into view?
Anyone know anymore on it?
