Hi,

Last round of the 2007 french tarmac rallies championship this coming week-end !!! :bounce:

Really nice entrylist for this event
http://www.var-rallye.com/?module=natengages

There will be 4 Porsche GT(with certainly Alexandre Bengué as leader of them)...

The battle for the french champion title is again open between the three usual whales, even if Patrick Henry took an option to it(he's leading with 6 points ahead of David Salanon and 13 points ahead Jean-Marie Cuoq)

Battle for the Michelin trophy is even more open, as only 2 points is the gap between Eric Mauffrey(306 Maxi) and Patrick Rouillard(Toyota Celica GT)...and on this rally a few other drivers can play between or ahead the two leaders like Michel Boetti(306 Maxi), Olivier Marty(Fiat Grande Punto S2000)or Ludovic Gal(306 Maxi)...

Also note a rare car in France, a Seat Cordoba WRC(driver Olivier Barbusse) :D

Very exciting rally I feel :bounce:

Live-results will be on http://www.patricksoft.fr

I forgot to mention a few non-french drivers who will take part to the event like Belgian Kris Princen in a Clio R3, or the incredible return of German Nicky Schelle invited by Suzuki France to run the Swift Cup on that event

Yeah, thumbs up for Kris Princen who's accepting a revenche with Robert. Hope he will beat him again, I prefer with a second or less! :D

Wow, old German drivers strike back! First Armin Kremer and Matthias Kahle on Lausitz Rally and now Niki Schelle in France! Good luck to all of them!

What's wrong with Cuoq, Salanon and Rouillard on reconnaissances? All of them have 20 sec. of penalty before start of the rally...

Tom206wrc

I can't help you VFTS, because on the FFSA site they aren't even available :(

Victory and title for Jean-Marie Cuoq !!!!

He's the first driver to win both gravel and tarmac championship :D

Victory and title of the Michelin Trophy for Eric Mauffrey also ;)

Bad luck for the S2000s, puncture for Tirabassi in the last stage(8th overall in the end of rally)and mechanical problem for Marty(retirement it seems) :(

The R3 is won by an incredible Manu Guigou(already 2WD champion on gravel with that Clio)ahead of Robert and Canivenq...

Belgian Kris Princen was 4th of R3(9th overall) :)

EDIT: I forgot, the Suzuki Swift Cup was won by Yoann Bonato in front of Cyril Audirac and Boris Carminati, but the overall championship is for Pierre Marché who will receive a present by Suzuki France for next year(possibly a Swift S1600 in France and on selected WRC events)

How much modiffied is Canivenq's 206 RC? I've seen him doing some incredible times in last few rounds...

The news at Autoklub.pl (http://www.autoklub.pl/17927,news.html) say that there was a big scandal on Rallye du Var. Cuoq, Salanon and Rouillard were caught during illegal recce. The manager from TOTAL said that the company is going to completely withdraw from French rally scene if the cheating driver will be accepted by FFSA as French rally champion.... Anybody knows more details?

Tom, I don't understand French, you could make a comment?
JMCuoq could lose the title?

It's nothing important in fact, FFSA explains why Cuoq, Salanon and Rouillard had a penalty before the start of the rally...

But they don't really explain why the championship results are suspended... :mark:

A thing that makes me angry against organiser of rally and FFSA is that on one side they say that the fact there were notes from the past events of Var inside the car during recce is considered by FFSA as "cheating" but on another side they say that it was useless to have notes of past events(many things changed from last editions of rallye du Var compared to the 2007 one)...so to me if it didn't bring lots of advantage to the crew to have notes from the past editions it's a mistake regarding the rules, BUT it can't be cheating at all !!!!
