A big congratulations to Fariqe Hairuman who has won this year's Asian Touring Car Series. He drives a BMW 320si E90 for Team Petronas and has become the youngest champion in the series' history :D

That's the funniest thing ever!!! Is it fair to say that championship would make the 2001 BTCC look competitive?!

Now he's proved himself to be a top line touring car driver. Perhaps he will be confirmed as Plato's team-mate for 2008!

So they have got rid of the Protons at last then. I remeber seeing a race from the ATCC last year and was supprised to see the Petronas Proton Impians still running in the same livery as they did in BTCC

Ah well done to him, i remember back in 2004 when he tried his luck over here, he just didnt look at all ready, also driving a car which looked as if it suffered from serious underdevelopment didnt help either (Shaun Watson smith also struggled from what i remember)

Its good to see him finally doing somthing useful because frm wot i remember he was hopeless in 2004 BTCC.

maybe we should cut him some slack - i thing it was maybe the car.

The Protons should have been ditched in 2004.

I see what you ment about the protons coluors Beej, meybe they were bad luck???

I'd forgotten all about this guy but it's good for him that he's a champion. I remember him being at proton in the btcc in 2004. Proton was one of those projects which was never going to work out and I'm surprised they lasted as long as they did.
Didn't david leslie drive for them for a few years during 02-03? I think he commentates on wtcc now on eurosport.
