It is with sad regret that I read in the Sydney Morning Herald that the Honda Motorcycle Corp as from 1st Jan 2007 have discontinued production of 2-Stroke motorbikes.

Now the reasons for this are obvious, and that is that the efficiencies and pollution reduction of a fuel-injected 2-stroker just don't warrant the costs when compared to a slightly larger 4-stroke engine.

I must admit that I will miss the explosive punch you get from a traditional oiler. I should think that if Honda do it, then everyone else must follow suit soon.

So it is with regret that I must bid adieu to Honda's 2-stroke engines. We'll miss you. :bigcry:

2-stroke motorbike production ceased 3-4 years ago here..Yes the drone/grumble of a 2-stroke is something amazing though.

I thought that fuel injection could solve alot of the strokers inefficiencies. Was that a technical dead end?
