Why only music and not interviews from the stage on that ****ty rally radio...

Don't you like INXS? ;)

Suzuki is suspecting a "sensor problem" for Gardemeister (as reported on rally radio). He's in for a very frustrating day...

On Pitstop.tv he said he had no big expectations because he feared the stages on thursday evening. Also expected to loose some time on fridays and saturdays stages because he doens't know them... ? Didn't he ride this stages before?

Welcome to the forum :)

No, he didn't compete on the Monte last year (budget problems) and these stages hadn't been used for about 10 years before then, when Duval was still riding a bicycle instead of driving rally cars ;)

It was the shortest stage of the rally so far. The loss of time to Sordo of most drivers is similar per km to the previous stage. But Henning sure had his best stage of the rally.

That's because WRC.com is made for everyn00b and not rally fans. We still have to put up with that patronising fool Paul King explaining the most basic of things on WRC coverage rather than just getting on with his job.

The people who do the rally radio haven't been following rallying for 10,15,20,30 years. Most simply started following the WRC when they started covering it so they don't know what people on the outside actually want.

Like I said. Give Pino, RB and J4mie their jobs and we'd have very good rally radio. Put Pino in charge of music and it'll be even better :)

short prediction for the next stages.

SS6 St. Pierreville - Col de la Fayolle 2 - 29,52 km - 14:51:

the suzukis won't have a problem and will overtake wilson and henning and quassimi. but latvala will be much faster and take all four of them and romeyer. so at the end of the stage he'll be found on the ninth place

SS7 Burzet - Lachamp Raphael 2 - 16,30 km - 16:29:

now the suzukis will have problems, maybe gardes suzuki will fall into pieces (i think the motor will show to all of us what it is doing inside). pgs suzuki will have electronic troubles. latvala will crash into a wall but continue (loosing a lot of time, at least two minutes). duval will spin but catch atkinson.

SS8 St. Martial - Le Chambon - Beleac 2 - 12,66 km - 17:15:

now duval will loose some time (because it's dark) and fall behind atkinson again. i can see a blue car with some troubes, maybe its name is startin with an "s" just like the drivers name). latvala still loosing some time because of his fault in the stage before and because of the dark.
new uspectacular driving style of galli leads him to secure seventh place overall today...

Honestly, this is only due to the few WRC cars for this event. It's the time diff. that's really poor. They are - after 5 stages - close to 6 min. behind. I hope for Suzuki that most of this time loss is down to mecanical problems.

He had to drive the opening two stages without ouvreurs, so it's pretty normal he didn't attack when he had no idea how the road conditions were. 4th is the highest he can reach anyway, no way papa Wilson will allow Duval to pass Hirvonen.

He hasn't done Monte-Carlo last year and he had to have a new co-driver with the deal with Vergallen. Eddy Chevallier has co-driven many drivers that Vergallen has sponsored.

No, on serious note, he did a small mistake yesterday and blew a tyre. He haven't gotten over it today, drives too carefully and haven't got the self-confidence in driving and trust with the tyres.

That's a way too much worrying while on stage don't you think?

Than you Phil. I myself am of two minds, on the other hand it pays to be a thinking driver these days and I am sure Malcolm appreciates such qualities in his 2nd driver. On the other hand it would help his speed if just kept on focusing on the road ahead.

You're totally right.

The thing is that he himself said all that. I just quoted him. :mark:

It's useless to squeeze when you already have crapped in your pants. Just let it go and push peal to the metal.

There's my new signature for 2008 :p :

good to see that the subarus quietly but steadily are staying on the road, posting good or average times and actually getting some good points for the manu championship! (although against the Stobart Armada it will be difficult! later on the season)

if suzukis have so many problems at tarmac rallies, i would not like to think in tough gravel events...
