Harvick has to get by Montoya first.
Harvick already has !
Kevin Harvick starts 3rd just BEHIND polesitter Jeff Gordon ! http://www.motorsportforum.com/forums/images/icons/tongue-anim.gif

Montoya is buried back in 26th just behind Matt Kenseth ... http://www.motorsportforum.com/forums/images/icons/eek.gif
but ahead of Denny Hamlin & Tony Stewart ... http://www.motorsportforum.com/forums/images/icons/eek.gif
lately Montoya seems to be an accident about to happen ... http://www.motorsportforum.com/forums/images/icons/s.gif
the question is will Montoya take out a Chase driver ? http://www.motorsportforum.com/forums/images/icons/eek.gif

I think it just may be a 2 pony race after Martinsville. :)
Martinsville is critical to the Chase drivers & where they may finish in the standings.
Martinsville is the last short-track race of the season. http://www.motorsportforum.com/forums/images/icons/s.gif
(The next 5 races are ALL important, good finishes are a must ...)

Bowyer is only 10 points behind Johnson ...
a bad race for them & a good race for Stewart could make it a 4 pony race. http://www.motorsportforum.com/forums/images/icons/tongue-anim.gif

For now it appears to be Jeff Gordon's Championship to lose ...
but 1 really bad finish for Gordon tightens it up to a real points shoot-out ! http://www.motorsportforum.com/forums/images/icons/eek.gif

harvick is like a sitting duck. Johnson passes him on the inside and Kyle passes him on the outside. :D

Terrible finish to the race. Truex muct have been in every wreck. Edwards kept running into the back of Tony. Way too many cautions to make the race real interesting.

Truex was one hell of a wrecking machine today

And WTF was nascar waiting before waving the last caution.

22nd October 2007, 01:08
Nascar's response to calling a caution was almost as bad as the TV broadcast. ABC/ESPN has been pretty terrible.

22nd October 2007, 03:12
I'd rather listen to the ABC/ESPN broadcast then the one from FOX

you can really stand Rusty Wallace, he has to be the worst announcer in the world, yes even worse than Brent Musberger :mark:

I personally would rather listen to a guy who gets excited about the race, all the commentators in Nascar are just dull.

The Broadcasting has also been a big joke by all the channels. I know sponsorship, this and that, but can these stupid ABC previews all the time just be in a small box during the race, since thats all ABC really puts on during commercials.

Well, Martinsville mostly helped the front 2 points leaders ...
Johnson gained a few points on Gordon but nobody else gained much ...
Kurt Busch lost the most points.

Chase Finishers @ Martinsville
01. Jimmie Johnson #48
03. Jeff Gordon #24
04. Kyle Busch #5
05. Matt Kenseth #17
06. Denny Hamlin #11
09. Clint Bowyer #07
10. Kevin Harvick #29
11. Jeff Burton #31
12. Carl Edwards #99
13. Tony Stewart #20
19. Martin Truex Jr #1
31. Kurt Busch #2

Chase Points Standings after Martinsville (Chase Race 6)
01. 6055 points Jeff Gordon
02. -053 points Jimmie Johnson
03. -115 points Clint Bowyer
04. -249 points Tony Stewart
05. -288 points Carl Edwards
06. -290 points Kyle Busch
07. -369 points Kevin Harvick (+1 spot)

10. -420 points Kurt Busch (-3 spots)
11. -447 points Martin Truex Jr
12. -462 points Matt Kenseth

I had hoped that Clint Bowyer might not lose many points but ...
the Hendrick cars are just too strong for everyone else right now ...
it is probably too late for the non-Hendrick drivers now ... :s
time is running out, only 4 races left to go ...
Atlanta, Texas, Phoenix & Homestead

NASCAR should just call the season, give Gordon the damn trophy and get this year long boring Hendrickfest over with already.
Maybe somebody might be able to compete against HMS and HMS won't have a horseshoe stuck up their behinds next year.

That would be like giving the World Series to the damned yankees every year.I say let them race for the title, sooner or later one of the 2 drivers Gordo or JJ will not make the chase, then see how the fans well react.
