Wouldn't the "Prova..." on the back of the car suggest it's a Ferrari? The yellow livery would mean it's one of the cars run by that Belgian team who used run customer Ferraris, Ecurie Something-or-other.
So...is it a Ferrari?

So far we have:
A Ferrari
Spa
Judging from the picture on the wall above my PC I'd say the little air intake before the rear wheels would make the car the 156 F1 "Sharknose". Ferrari ran that from 1961 to 1963.
There's no number on the car which is curious as the cars from the '60's ran with numbers on the flanks and nose. The colour has got me stuffed too, as the Belgian team I was thinking of ran Ferrari sports cars and not F1. The only time Ferrari has run in anything other than Rosso is 1964 when they ran in white and blue after Enzo had a disagreement with the Italian auto authorities. So unless the picture just makes the car look yellow/orange it's not a works car.
Ignoring the colour I'm going to say:
Wolfgang von Trips
Ferrari 156F1
Spa
1961

I do not follow the series at all but I do follow some of the drivers from other categories (IRL, NASCAR). This is what really got me into it. From what I hear there are a lot of activities in the middle section of the track which is accessible to fans depending on your tickets.
I would like to get some more info about the cars.. "Daytona prototypes" which I know nothing about, the racing involved. (Different classes racing at the same time) are there many accidents? I’ve been reading about their engine specs but I have never actually seen them in action. How fast are they compared to the other categories?.. NASCAR, IRL, F1, DTM etc….
Can you use your tickets to go in and out of the track at anytime you want during the 24hrs or are they fixed for specific reserved times?
thanks for the info so far.

Don't think so. The color scheme is definitely Cooper and the helmet shows Rindt's colors, but the engine in that car is not the Maserati V-12! Looks more like a Coventry Climax V-8 to me. That would make the year 1965 and the car a Cooper T77. That also makes more sense, as the T81 was a beefy thing to hold the Maser V-12 and the huge radiator it required.

I find myself on the horn of a dilemma! I failed to be specific in terms of what, where, when and whom.
Of course, it is a Connaught A-Type.
Happy to hand the baton to you, sir, unless anyone, now armed with that information, cares to fill in the gaps.
By way of a clue, may I say that the picture was taken in 1953, the ancien pilote at the helm is still very much with us and he recently enjoyed a rather long and pleasant lunch by all accounts!
By the way, Brooks it ain't.

May I suggest that Vitesse and D-Type can fight over the baton... first in best dressed.
Oh and I'll put up the race and results now if anyone cares to enquire.
