This is a very interesting page, especially the document called "Masterplan and Glossary"
http://www.southnorthants.gov.uk/library/1584.htm

Silverstone are finally preparing to drag themselves into the 21st century, with new hotels, car parking, new pits and paddock, and a Porsche driving experience centre.

All they need now is planning permission, but they've got the support of the local authorities.

It's always been one of the better circuits on the F1 calendar, just hopelessly outdated. Hopefully over the next few years it will once again become something to be proud off. Not quite in the same league as Shanghai or Bahrain in terms of facilities and scale, but a far cry from the functional but drab industrial estate it currently resembles.

And is it anything different than what they've been saying for the past 10 years?!

Yup. This time they can afford it.

And without a ridiculously huge dollop of public money, too, which I think is a very good thing.

Good question.

Which has been the subject of an equally good answer.

Would would we do without a smart a$$?!
