Your photos wanted

As some of you may have seen with the RallyForum.com style. We are looking to introduce a slightly different style on Motorsport Forums (partner site styles are not affected) and for that we are looking to use header images for every type of motorsport covered by MotorsportForums.

They will appear on random rotation at the top of the forums, you can see the full collection of what we already have here: http://www.motorsportforums.com/forums/allheaders.php

We are looking for submissions which we can use in the IndyCar forum, your pictures of IndyCars in action, but they must be your own pictures.

Preferably they should be cropped down to 588 x 95 pixels, then it is a simple job to upload them, however if you aren't comfortable doing this we can do it for you, but you need to keep in mind that the picture does need to be cropped to this size.

Please post links to any pictures you have, please don't upload them to the forums as it would put too much load on the servers.

What about pictures from the pits as well ? I have plenty of Danica in her pits too. :)

As in, in the car, or out of the car? I'm not particuarly keen on shots of the drivers themselves, just the cars, although a car during a pit stop or a shot of the pit lane would be good.

For those curious, they were shot with a Canon 40D with 28-300 F3.5-5.6L and 70-200 F2.8L Canon lenses.

Thank you! Very kind words. I'm not going to lie, I'm not a big follower of Indy, and I had to look up what you were referring to about the chassis builder. :p

I've been to Barber many times, even rode my sportbike on it several times, so when a friend told me about the testing, we decided it might be cool to go watch, get a few pics, and be able to say "we were there". We had a good time and really appreciated the speed they were carrying having seen other forms of vehicles go (what we thought was) fast. The shifting on the synchronized gearbox test car sounded sweet! Let's hope they get to come back and compete soon.

I hope they come to Barber too. Then I'd have an oval(Nashville) and a road course within easy driving distance. What kind of bike do you have? I've got an original CBR600F Hurricane, and have always ridden something since I was 14. (Tennessee lets you get a restricted license with parental permission at 14) I love it although marriage and small children have definitely put a cramp in my riding the past 3-4 years. :D

We've currently got a '06 GSXR-750 and '05 Husqvarna SMR-510 for me, and '03 ZX-6R 636 and '05 Husqvarna SMR-450 for my wife. (although we swap around now and then...her Husky 450 is a hoot ;) )

That's pretty cool that you have an original Hurricane...those things really kicked off the current sportbike fascination.

Anyway, back on topic I guess...love to see some shots that others have gotten. It's kinda fun to crop them down to banner size like that and get to the "meat" of the shot. I thought about playing around with some Photoshop effects, but didn't get the impression that was what Mark wanted.

Hey Mark,

I understand if you don't want to use them, but for no payment we do not allow commercial use without photo credit. A lot of money and time went into producing those shots, and I think it's a reasonable expectation. I'm aware that other people will supply that type of thing for free, but I've learned a lot of lessons about giving things away.

I noticed you apply a blue fade to the right edge on your other header photos, and I'm ok with that the way they are, as long as it's not any more concealing than it already is.

Hope you understand, and either way we're still friends. :)
