While I would like to congratulate Gio, I have to take my hat off to Jason. My admiration for him after this weekend has grown hugely. What a man!

Happy 40th Birthday!
Wish you a very speedy recovery!
We'll be trackside to support you for the 2008 title!

He's got balls

It must be his Newcastle upbringing.

Don't I know it, as a fellow Sandancer DazzlaF1!

The way he fought not only Gio but his own injiries to race his car as stong as it i did with his injuries was frankly fantastic.

I really felt sorry for him. So agonisingly close - I thought this would be SEAT's year.....

Was listening to the in car radio on my scanner and after the red flag came out for Jordan Jason thanked his crew and just said "It just wasn't meant to be" words of a true competitor well done Jase and thank you for making this season one of the best ever......

Better change my signature though...LOL

I went to Thruxton yesterday and as usual I watched the ITV coverage, that I had recorded, when I got home. Having been on holiday for a week I knew nothing about Jason's injuries until then. Now I have a lot more respect for him. He must have been in agony or on some very good painkillers.

Jason drove very well yesterday and would have been a deserving champion. Still there is always next year :D

I might not particularly like the bloke but after seeing him in obviously a lot of pain I was actually willing him on to win the championship. That took a lot of guts.

I hope plato is pleased cos he should know he tried his best and only missed the title by 3 points (cos gio had won more races if they had been equal points) :) Certainly I just knew he was trying hard

In that final race he had gone absolutely ferrel! Thowing the car all over the track and into every gap he could find. It was a truely exciting final drive from him, and I'm amazed he managed to find the strength. An absolute hero and a great season. Better luck next time :)

Although over the last few seasons he hasn't been my favourite driver his courage and bravery at Thruxton was amazing. The SEAT wasn't a match for the Vauxhalls at Thruxton but he pushed them all the way under difficult circumstances. I'm sure that he has gained many fans this weekend, maybe as many as Matt Neal has lost.

Pushed being the right word for it.

Thruxton I think just might represent certainly what has happened for most of the season for Jase'.

Like at Thruxton the Leon of Jase' hasn't really been a true match for the Vauxhalls all season being brutally honest mate. But like at Thruxton all season I think Jase' tried to push his Leon all the way to keep with a driver the calibre of Fab.

Therein lies proof that the one letdown it seems for Jase' this season was the pace. It seems their was little issue with the performance. Theirs no quarrels with the choice of driver. But it is just the pace. And that can be addessed be turning to TDI to compensate for the downforce problems the Leon has.

If SEAT turn to the TDI Jase will be all the better next season.

The Leon doesn't have a downforce problem it has a 'drag' problem

Lets hope that the BTCC doesn't adopt the ridiculous rule of giving TDI's extra boost in qualifying.

If the TDI is as fast and as powerful as opinions are leading me to believe why add anything to it that gives it extra power and/or performance?

It is like attaching a rocked to the back of a Ferrri in a race against a road going saloon of some sort. The Ferrari doesn't need the extra boost. The engine's power alone is enough to beat the saloon.

It probably isn't that much faster than the petrol version when you compare their top end speeds, but it certainly gets to use it's power a lot earlier and has far superior accelleration.
