$15 for a 7 car test?

They are charging $15 to get into the test at Barber Motorsports Park. They give away tons of race tickets during the year and then charge for a test? Just strikes me as odd.

Sometimes that's just race track policy. I don't think you can get into Willow Springs or Buttonwillow for any type of event without paying.

Hey,

The $15 is the at the gate price. Tickets are $10 in advance and kids under 12 are free. This ticket includes paddock admission. I've got mine and plan on being there. Also the Friday ticket gets you in for the rest of the weekend to see the NASA sports cars and a car show Saturday and Sunday. Bought separately this ticket is $35. As an added bonus everyone who purchases a ticket for Friday goes into a drawing for a ride in the Indycar 2 seater. So even if you pay $15 at the gate it's a pretty good deal. Heck when they had the NASCAR COT test at Talladega you had to give a pint of blood to get in. Here's my $10!!!!!!



Sounds like it's a decent deal if you take advantage of it, and as Jonesi said, it's probably a track policy as much as anything.

Danica also said she was floored by the number of spectators she has seen around the track. Interest has been higher than the track officials expected, and there were some jam-ups at will-call and credentials this morning before they brought some additional people in and got it straightened out.

The weather is Chamber of Commerce: temperature in the low '70s with a clear blue sky and light winds.

Why would they? What is wrong with a paddle shift? Too much like a Champ Car? f1? Please.....most of these guys are used to paddle shift from coming up through other series. Indy Car was about the last hold out from the paddle shift, and for what reason?

I thought the consensus here was that stick shift is better because it is more challenging.

Other than the road courses, they don't shift that much anyway. And with a double super secret power steering system on the way, why not include as many other driver aids as possible? Does it really matter how hard they are to drive anymore? How many really care anymore?
