It's too early to say whether this heralds dawn of new golden era but given that Citroen stays, Suzuki enters, Subaru gets entirely new car and Wilson is rumored to be optimistic about Ford contract extension, things are looking better for a change.

Good they stay! Good for the sport. Like Jost Capito allready say and Michel say it too: TV coverage can better. If that become better, more factories comes and stay longer.

In Norway did Hirvonen have a outright win (over Loeb and Grönholm), and in Finland did Hirvonen also con quire Loeb. Ad some DNF's, and we say 13/16

Ad if the next Subaru really is an improvement, maybe it can be more interesting than what it is today.

And let us not forget Suzuki. They are new in the WRC, but not in the game...

I think it could be a very positive step.

I also think it could be brilliant to require WRCar teams to base their cars off of a true S2000.

That would reduce some of the barriers for teams to make the jump as they could spend less money working on S2000s for a while and then go to WRCar as well. Plus I'd love to see some real battles and more serious PWRC teams and programs come to the fore front.

Factory supported cars from Fiat, Pug, Citroen, Ford, Subaru, Mitsu, and Suzuki in N4/S2000 and Citroen, Ford, Subaru, and Suzuki in WRCars, that would be pretty sweet.

We do but it's all sobbing and griping plus I wanted a thread about Citroen continuing, which is a tad different from more general topic of future of the WRC. However, it seems that any comments on next season will always turn on eternals like Loeb-will-conquer or WRC-is-in-shambles or let-S2K-rule et cetera.

What if Citroen would have pulled out? Ford would have signed Loeb as #1 and there would not have been a championship worth talking about. Now there will be at least a pretense of a fight, there is a lot of talk about Ford's decision with the drivers. 2008 looks good, not bleak.

Exactly my thought, what will happen in 2010??? Is there gonna be Citroen??? Is there gonna be Subaur??? How about Ford??? We can't be too optimistic but for now, yes it is a good news :)

Sorry, I didn't illustrate my point.

One of the FIA proposals is that all the WRCars be based at least in principal off of a S2000. The WRCar would be turbo charged and have some more technology but there would have to be a S2000 or N4 "base" car, at least that is how I understood it. If that were the case then that would mean a lot more cars in the PWRC/IRC
