Toyota's are reliable but horrible to drive. Caroline's mum has a WRC shape Corolla and yes it's reliable but it's not a car that's nice to be in.

She changed her mind after looking inside one :p

I've been inside the sister car of the Aygo, the Citroen C1 and it's just seems cheap and not very cheerful.

My last car was a 206 and I didn't want another Pugeot either. I was going to say a Fiat Panda 100bhp. I followed one to the train station this morning and quite like it for a small car.

Apparently the most fun car that can be had for 10 grand new :)

I think the Aygo is quite a good deal, or at least it is if you go to Citroen and get one of their super discounts.

The engineering and manufacturing is done by Toyota, the interior, styling and chassis fine tuning done by the French. As far as cooperations go its as good as it gets.

I wouldn't mind a Fiat 500 but I know I'll be spending at least 2k premium on the styling and it isn't as small as it looks either. How about the new Renault Twingo? It looks quite boring though.

All depends on what your budget is I guess.

:hmh:

When I say I drive a Punto to some people they think it is one of the old boxy ones. They don't realise that the Grande Punto is a Punto :p

I wouldn't choose a 500 because they are more expensive yet smaller than a Punto. However the new KA is going to be based on the 500 and be cheaper.

Yes but the 500 is a very nice looking car :) Yes the Punto is nice looking but the 500 is just lovely and hence is worth the extra dough if you're going to buy a new car. The only thing that will be bad is if it comes a posermobile :mark:

Jon,
I think you are spot on there. Said Punto and she just went 'urgh!', the brand is still suffering from the old cars which looked poo.

What does anyone think of the 2008 Fiesta?

That's the bar stud lovechild of a 207 and a Punto with a Ford badge on it.

Yes :D

Definitely. £2000 more to be a bit more original. You'll see less 500s than Punto Grandes on the streets and that's got to be a good thing. Makes it more of an event when you see one.

Style costs. If I were to seriously look at buying a new small car, it would be the 500. It is the best looking retro car in recent years (because it is not trying) and the best looking Fiat.

Fiat are taking deposits for the Fiat 500 convertable already, not that they have an exact release date or know how much it is going to cost yet. :) Its not a bad car I guess, looks too much like a Micra for my liking though.

When I saw it for the first time I though "eurgh" now I think that's it's quite good looking

I think that Fiesta looks very good. But I'd wait to see the cheaper versions of it and see how they look.

Mark

I did read one article about it and they basically said that there was no way the frameless door windows for example could be a feature of a car with the Fiesta's price tag.

I think it is going to swallow lots of flies with its mouth wide open like that :p :
