Hans Reusch, the last surviving Major Pre-War race winner has died at the age of 94. The Swiss driver won the 1936 Donington sharing an Alfa Romeo with Richard Seaman. He won 27 Grand Prixs between 1932-1953, and went on to become an author.

Good age anyway, having read elsewhere that some strain resulted from involving in the race or those who like watching it, has correlation to make 1 year shorter of the age ;( :D

Yah, but can you imagine with as long as his life was, him witnessing over the ages all the mind-blowing technical advancements (if you can call them that nowadays, in the current state of the sport) ?

Hans wrote the book "The Racer" a very thinly disguised book about GP racing in the '30s. It was made into a movie under the original title but also released as "Such Men are Dangerous". It starred Kirk Douglas and Bella Darvi. Until "Grand Prix" it was probably the best racing movie.
