There are reports that Sprint may be bought by the UK's BT Group aka British Telecom. The most interesting part is that BT is a primarily a land line business and does not have its own cellular division in the UK. Therefore it is not inconceivable that the cell phone business could be sold to someone else. Needless to say, if this buyout goes through, it could get very interesting for the sponsorship of the cup series.

The 10 year Nextel deal only allows for one name change, and once they change all those signs at all the tracks over to Sprint that's it.

Don't forget that NASCAR has to approve the series name change ...
a non-American owned company would NOT have much of a chance getting approval imo. http://www.motorsportforum.com/forums/images/icons/eek.gif
