I wonder why it is not talked about yet.

NASCAR.com reports the 99 car did not pass postrace inspection due to height issues.
There might be penalties and this could cost Edwards dearly in the chase. 25 points is in question since it obviously is no COT violation.

It was mentioned on another thread. Not much is known about it yet, as of the NascarNow interview the car wasn't back yet to Nascar tech. Penalty will be announced Tues or Wed.

Should be a 100 point penaly, same as DE, JG, JJ...I know some others lost 25, I'm not familiar with why/the differences.

There could be NO penalty ...
Greg Biffle gave Carl Edwards a celebratory bump after the race ...
Edwards is hoping the resulting damage is from that bump ...
we will know more when NASCAR releases a statement. :D

Hoss cause those teams actually broke the rules with the COT.

I think Biffle had a soft shock which caused it to be low.

Hmmmm, how could biffle's soft shock cause Carl Edward's car to be low.

wasn't Biffles car low at Bristol or something and they didn't penalize his team for being too low, or was that Kyle Busch's team

They wont make such a controversial penalty this time. Unless that car is WAY low, they will let it slide......this time. Roush will no doubt be told though that it wont be tolerated in the future. I don't think the powers that be want to mess up a "Chase" that has 7 guys 34 points apart....so unless it is absolutely proven that this was some massive unfair advantage, NASCAR will likely say the height was within a margin of error or something. Nothing looks worse than having officialdom determine championships..

I'm trying to understand that also. I could understand it if Biff jumped up and down on the right rear of Carl's car. Sounds like a lameazz excuse to me. :D

25 points isn't a terrible penalty .....
I expect the Championship will be won by MORE than 25 points. :D

Roush to appeal. Don't think they will win.

Jack Roush will waste his time if he makes an appeal ... http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g202/gr8link/orn/ooo.gif
NASCAR could increase the penalty in an appeal ... http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g202/gr8link/orn/w2.gif
wouldn't that be a kick in the butt ??? http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g202/gr8link/orn/00.gif

The problem is the rear of the car was too LOW. At Talladega, they'd put him on the cross, because that would cut drag. At Dover, that's going to cut downforce. While that would help a lot at Talladega, it would not at Dover. If anything, it was performance hindering rather than enhancing.
