According to Autosport Bill Blydenstein passed away on Sepetember 12 at the age of 78.

Those who do not know of Bill, he was the pioneering engineer behind Dealer Team Vauxhall in the 70' helping Gerry Marshall to numerous wins in Viva's, Firenza's and Baby Bertha!

I met Bill a couple of times and he was a gentleman, always finding time to talk to you and even after he retired still showed enthusiasm for the sport.

Saloon car racing owes a lot to Bill Blydenstein.

That's very sad news. He also drove a Borgward Isabella in the early days of the British Saloon Car Championship.

Rally enthusiasts will also remember Blydenstein as the man behind the Chevettes that were so successful in the late 1970s and early 1980s.
