I would love to see one or two of the guys from the WTCC who haven't competed in the BTCC before.

I would like to see Terting race for SEAT. I would also like to see Davide Roda who must be thinking where his next drive will be coming from after being hired to replace Sergio Hernandez and then to leve when Sergio returned. I would love to see Ryan Sharp though he is competing in the FiA GT Championship.

But of the former BTCC racers the one name I would love to see is Farique Hairuman. I think he could do a good job for a good Independent team.

No. I did mean Fairique. I just remembered seeing article somewhere ages ago about Fairique doing well in a race. I think it was Fairique. It might have been Shaun.

But in all honesty whomever is the better one I would like to see return.

Whether it is Shaun or Fairique.

2004 standings

14th Shaun Watson-Smith--PROTON--28pts
23rd Fariqe Hairuman--PROTON--0pts

Watson-Smith got the fastest lap at Brands Hatch in one round.

But to be fair.. you are talking about the PROTON!

Shaun Watson-Smith is a very good driver. Put him in a top line car and he will win races. As he did in South Africa, before coming to the UK.

Having just seen it, I have been reminded an an article on touringcartimes.com, their is rumbling that, as we all know, Alex Zanardi could leave the WTCC.

Officials have penalised Zanardi with grid penalties in the next four races for the incident at the start of Race 1 at Oschersleben.

It would be brilliant if Alex was to come but as we all know he has been offered a test in a Panoz in Champcars with team PKV at the end of the month.

Lewis Hamilton. (If he is the quick one from Formula 1 I saw an article about!);-)

Yeah! Lewis is another rumoured MG2004!

I heard that he is sick of McLarens bad reputation within F1. Team Dynamics is his rumoured team.

Mind it was an article on loadofbs.com!!

Kidding aside in all honesty the only drivers likely to come or see the BTCC as an option are the SCC drivers like Fulvio Mussi and Geordie Harry Vaulkhard.

Captain VXR
18th September 2007, 17:05
Paul O'Neil, Gareth Howell, Dan Eaves, Jonathon Adam, Mark Proctor, James Kaye, Simon Blankley (he seemed quick on a small budget) and Mark Smith

Simon Blanckley wouldn't want to be back though. He quit as it just wasn't for him.

I still believe that Anthony Reid, in spite of his age relative to most of the rest of the field, could do a fine job in the BTCC.

 Shame he never really got another chance. Strange considering his pace.

I'd like to see old names back, Menu, Rydell, Cleland (If I had money, I'd pay for him to be back :p : ) Reid, Tarquini, Muller, Biela and so many more I've forgotten.

Boris Schulmeister would be interesting, but only if he raced in a Lada :p :

I'd say Warren Hughes and Paul O'Neill.

How about Garry Paffet, running around in an old merc is not doing him any good at all thanks to Merc shafting him. If he does not get the race seat at Prodrive I hope he leaves merc and looks at other options.

Owy of course :D

Paul Rivett is due a chance in the BTCC.

My list of drivers I'd like to see in the BTCC next season would be...
Tommy Rustad (always thought he was quick as an Independent)
Alex Zanardi (Rumored to have fallen out with his WTCC team)
Emmet O'Brien
Rickard Rydell
James Pickford
Andy Reid
Tom Boardman
Ryan Sharp
Jonathan Adam
Stefan Hodgetts
Martin Byford

Alex Zanardi (Rumored to have fallen out with his WTCC team)

So would I dwboogityfan. But he is off to ChampCar to test a Panoz Cosworth at the end of the month. But even if he doesn't impress (which is probably unlikely) I don't see him coming to the BTCC.
