49 cars entered.

Top 35 - Regan Smith is in #01, Ken Schrader back in #21, Ricky Rudd is listed in #88 but Kenny Wallace will probably sub if shoulder not ok.

Need for speed - No changes to the regular drivers. Two cars added.
Sam Hornish Jr tries for his first Cup start in #06 Penske Dodge.
Boris Said in #98 GEM Dodge. (R&D entry, or try out for #10 ride or 4th GEm car next year?)

What did Andretti do to end up not qualifying, when it stated previously that he qualified 26?

Nascar.com is now showing Boris Said in and John Andretti DNQ so there may have been a tech problem.

Boris Said was just on NascarNow and confirmed he's in the race and Andretti's car was DQ'd. Did not have any of the tech details though.

I am sure that nascar.com is in error ..... http://www.motorsportforum.com/forums/images/icons/rolleyes.gif
I used the drivers that were outside of the Top 35 in Owner's Points as a guide.
The rule has been that the fastest of the drivers that have to make it on speed get in.
If they are going to start making new rules to fit their designs, they shouldn't have qualifying at all. http://www.motorsportforum.com/forums/images/icons/rolleyes.gif

Andretti had a tech problem my butt ! http://www.motorsportforum.com/forums/images/icons/tongue-anim.gif
The car passed pre-qualifying inspection ! http://www.motorsportforum.com/forums/images/icons/tongue-anim.gif

Jayski & That's Racin also now has Andretti's time as disallowed and since the #49 is outside of the top 35 that means DNQ. My understanding is there's pre & post qualifing inspection and cars have to pass both. I'll wait until I hear what Nascat & the team have to say about it before I decide there's something fishy going on. ;-)

With 25 laps to go I won't spoil the finish for anyone however i will say the first three places in the points race stay unchanged. The first time in modern day racing all 43 cars will finish the race .the big mover of the day is Bowyer moving up 8 spots to forth in the chase.Again there is 20 laps to go.

Congrats to Bowyer on his first Cup win.

I wasn't going to tell but yes congrates to Clint Bowyer for winning, leading the most laps dominating the field and of course the burn out that left the car on the track as he celebrated in the winners circle.

I will give the race a 6.5 out of 10. The best thing about the race was Pedigree got a chance to watch it live at the track.

Can't believe that Childress was out hunting in Mongolia. Jeez, he is getting to be as bad as Teresa. :)

I wouldn't have put it in a thread title, but deep in a thread nobody has reason to complain.

Why was Vickers black flagged?

Lap 45 -- Brian Vickers went a lap without being scored because he failed to acknowledge the black flag. He pulls onto pit road.

Best guess: Pit road speed violation, aren't most of them?

It seems like every time a RCR wins, Richard is off in some other country hunting.
