and all the people keep saying Harvick is the most dangerous driver out there, only being in 5 accidents.

I guess JJ kept on crashing cause he kept seeing that crazy blonde shouting his name ;) :p :

It's no surprise to me that Yeley tops the list. On the other hand that's good news and job security for the JGR fab shop. :D

Doesn't quite tell the story without knowing crasher or crashee ;-)
Who would have thought Robby Gordon wasn't in the top 35!

Yeley's on my list after what he did to Martin at Charlotte.

I honestly was surprised to see that Kasey was the lowest with Harvick because of all the crashes he was in last year.

Really big OT: I saw the Busch Series review yesterday and noticed that Yeley has teeth white like snow. :s hock: What does he brush them with?

Harv, you might be interested to know that the driver who has completed the most laps in the span between the 2001 Daytona 500 and the 2006 Ford 400 is none other than our Kevin Harvick....Even more impressive since he's automaticaly behind 700 laps because of not racing the the 2001 Daytona 500 (200 Laps) and the 2002 spring Martinsville race (500 laps)....So much for being a deadly wreckfest waiting to happen...

1 Kevin Harvick 62,175
2 Matt Kenseth 62,056
3 Tony Stewart 61,965
4 Dale Earnhardt, Jr. 61,706
5 Jeff Gordon 61,427
6 Mark Martin 61,362
7 Dale Jarrett 61,088
8 Jeff Burton 60,566
9 Bobby Labonte 60,539
10 Elliott Sadler 60,520

Oh, and by the way (thanks DW)...

There have been 216 Nextel Cup Series races during that span. Harvick started 214 of them. He is the ONLY driver who has completed over 200 of them (201). Mark Martin is second on the list with 196...

201 of 214. Harvick has only 13 DNF's for his career, and although I can't find a stat breakdown, my memory has it that somewhere around half of those were equipment (engine/transmission) related....

Our Champion has raced one less year, so he has started 183 points races...he finished 163 of them....20 DNF's

I will give JJ his props, tho: Of those 163 completed races, he has finished on the lead lap 141 times....that is IMPRESSIVE...

jj yeley only got 12 lead lap finishs and 3 top 10s
he made over $4,000,000 so even a cup failure cashs in

JJ isn't as bad as his crash record, but he isn't as good as he likely thinks he is either. Hence the crashes and the attitude. Of course, you can be good and get in wrecks, but you just have to race harder in the races you don't wreck in to make up for it. Tony Stewart is living proof of the old theory of Win, or wreck trying. Often Tony's wrecks occur when things are not going well and he is digging himself out of a hole and people are not co-operating in his mind.

Harvick is a changed man obviously judging by the record, and it showed in his points. In short, he is becoming the driver many people thought he would after that early success.

One also notes that luck often is a factor. Mark Martin based on reputation, his moral and ethical rules that he has for himself behind the wheel should not be in any wrecks, yet he isn't the cleanest driver wreck wise. Yet we all know the truth that no one races cleaner than the little guy from Arkanasas, so you have to conclude that statistics don't always show the whole story...
