With the recent thread I thought it might be cool to have a one-off 'appreciation rally' for a game which is, obviously, still well-respected amongst us.

The rally would be competed amongst the WRC cars only (Subaru Legacy, Ford Escort, Mitsubishi Lancer, Toyota Corolla). It would involve ALL stages of New Zealand, Sweden, and Corsica (the three surfaces:gravel, snow, and tarmac) for a total of 19 stages (I'm thinking roughly 45 minutes total game time) and default settings (accoding to my game guide there are recommended settings for default, so it's not like you're driving Corsica with suspension settings better suited for Greece).

What do you guys think? If the interest is there I was thinking times due Friday, September 14th.

I'll be using a Mitsubishi, an unpopular choice apparantly. :)

Is there a shakedown?

WELCOME BACK HOMER!

For diversity's sake, I'll swap to a Toyota.

If anyone would like to suggest a shakedown stage, please do so.

I've not even loade the game :D

Thanks, now it's working. But now I have another problem, the game doesn't recognize my video card, and it is really slow. Anyways, obviously I will not part of that race.

Just finished my rally, felt like doing a little tribute to Colin and use the Subaru Impreza.
My times were quite bad anyway, the car slides much more than in CMR2

I think I prefer it that way...

Hoping someone other than myself and jso are participating :(

If you extend the deadline with 24 hours then I can finish the last rally and send my times. Real life rallying took a bit more time then expected this week. :D

Hey, thanks for that.

Ill see if I can get them done some day soon, but it seems somewhat unlikely. Hey, Ill not do too good anyways, so no threats!

Juha
17th September 2007, 23:42
I finished. :D

The comments were "where did it go wrong?", "oh well, better luck next time", ... not a brilliant drive. :D France didn't go too bad but I just couldn't follow the expert times. Sweden wasn't too bad and New Zealand sucked because I always slip off.

Sadly, only 3 competitors (myself, Juha, and jso1985). I'll beputting up individual stage times throughout the day and finish with overall results.

Preserverance over the gravel, mud, and snow paid off for Tannat who was victorious in his Corolla. Good battle for second between Juha and jso1985 with the Mitsubishi taking an average of less than a second over every stage of the rally.

P--Driver--------Car-----------Time

1-Tannat-------Toyota--------54:24.10
2-Juha---------Mitsubishi------56:28.86
3-jso1985------Subaru--------56:44.39

THANKS FOR PARTICIPATING!!

I may host a very small CMR1 championship with the beginning of the rally season next year. Nothing at all like jso1985s machine, but perhaps just 6 stages per rally, with results reported as I did for this event.
