When was the last time or how many times have non works drivers (ie not in a m1 or m2 team) finished on the podium or in the top 6?
Cheers.

didnt Sarrazin reach the podium in Germany or France in the year 2004. I think he finished third but i could be wrong. That is what attracted Subaru to them in the first place.

Sarrazin was fourth in spain 2004. That was the only rally he did that year. I'd say the last time was when Daniel Carlsson brought his Lancer to third place after a thrilling battle with Gigi Galli in Sweden 2006. am i right?

Rally Cyprus 2005 Manfred Stohl, 2nd
Rally Australia 2005 Manfred Stohl, 3rd

Stohl wasn't scoring manufacturers points in 2005 either.

The last non-works win was Ian Duncan on the Safari in 1994, driving a Celica sponsored by a sausage factory, apparently.

I have vague memories of reading about someone winning the Italian round in a Subaru (I think) entered by the local importer team sometime in the mid-90s. I'm not sure who or when exactly, or even if this was part of the world championship.

San Remo '95 was won by Piero Liatti, driving a Subaru Impreza 555. Only it was a round of the 2-litre (F2) Championship, so not the official World Rally Championship.

From reviews, Ian Duncan drove for the official Toyota works outfit at the '94 Safari.

That'll be the person I was thinking of.

And let's not forget François Duval in Germany...
