The UIR is the 3rd asphalt round of the season, and a true blast to drive as the roads winds through the green hills of northern Ireland, but keep your eyes on the road as the rocks and ancient stonewalls lining the road will put an efficient stop to any car!

So far the weatherforecast looks good, but rain showers are most likely as this is the British championship :D

Shakedown: None, but comments on your recce is welcome!

What is CMR2 British Rally Championship?

This Colin McRae Rally 2 championship is just like the CMR2 WC hosted by jso1985, the only difference is that it follows the the calendar of the British Rally Championship, the races are shorter, and the point scale is closer, so that you will still hold a chance of a podium finish should you miss a rally or two.

Calendar:

This championship will follow the calendar of the "real" BRC, with the only exeption of the Ulster International that I have moved a week, as it was in the same weekend as New Zealand.

25th - 27th May – Jim Clark International Rally
Ingame rally: France Expert level

19th - 20th / 21st July – Isle of Man International Rally
Ingame rally: Italy Expert level

25th Aug - 26th Sept – Ulster International Rally
Ingame rally: France (M) Expert level

6th Oct – International Rally Yorkshire
Ingame rally: Finland Expert level

30th Nov - 2nd Dec – Wales Rally GB **
Ingame rally: UK Expert level

** The Wales Rally GB round of the CMR2WC managed by jso1985, will also count as points for this championship, so that you don't have to drive that round twice (Thanks jso!).

You will only be eligeble for scoring BRC points in the Wales Rally GB, if you have competed in any of the previous rounds of the CMR2 BRC of 2007.

Rules:

A short outline of the rules:

* All nationalities can enter!

* Only WRC cars can be used (no Group B).

* You can change car as often as you like during the championship.

* Both Playstation and Pc players can enter

* Guidelines and results for each race will be posted on this forum.

* At least 3 competitors must enter and finish each rally, in order for that round to count in the points.

* Apart from these, the rules are the same as for the CMR2WC

Points awarded:

1st - 20 pts
2nd - 18 pts
3rd - 16 pts
4th - 15 pts
5th - 14 pts
6th - 13 pts
7th - 12 pts
8th - 11 pts
9th - 10 pts
10th - 9 pts
11th - 8 pts
12th - 7 pts
13th - 6 pts
14th - 5 pts
15th - 4 pts
16th - 3 pts
17th - 2 pts
18th - 1 pts

Wicked. I might be in for one of these rounds, are they in single rally/championship modes or time trial, and do we need to take a picture/screenshot of our time for proof?

Hi Will, having an actual brit in the championship would be great!

The rally is run in this format:

In-game rally: France (Mirrored) (asphalt) - Expert level

Meaning that you run France as a single rally at Expert level, and that you must use the mirror cheat (so that all stages are mirrored and therefore different to drive than normal).

A screenshot is not obligatory as some play the championship on Playstation, but feel free to send one if you can, particularly if you kick our *sses ;-)

We finished in 1 piece! This was a fast Rally and we left alot of rubber on the road. There were heaps of 'controlled' drifting as well. No major damage this time, but we had a big hit into a pole and had a roll after hitting a wall at 70 mph! I hope we had enough on the board for some points this time.

Ok, great stuff, I think I will give it a go then, I'll get driving very soon. ;) :D

Do I PM my times/pictures to you or post them here?

OK. :D

My game on my laptop always stops because the game loses it's focus. It runs in full screen but then it'll sort of, minimize, but not to taskbar but just the picture of the game with a bar at the top with minimize, maximize and exit buttons.

I'll get a screenshot for you if you don't know what I mean.

Never really got into the rythm at this rally, no major incidents but I could have done better.

Oh well , it's working now :D ;)

I've just completed the rally. Here's my report.

Press Release From BP Ford World Rally Team On Result At Ulster Rally

Today our lead driver Will came into the event as a newbie - not having any experience with the conditions as an Expert. The car is a 2000 version Ford used by Simon Jean-Joseph who left at the end of last season.

The rally is based fully on tarmac, not our best surface or one our driver is accustomed to; and this showed in the result.

We hope to have a faster version of the Focus for the next round in Yorkshire.

Press Release From Will On Result At Ulster Rally And Stage Review

The France Rally was a fairly decent rally, I know I could have got a lot faster as I made a lot of stupid mistakes like hitting the wall and spinning, going wide at corners and losing time on the grass.

Stage 1 for me was fairly difficult, as were the following two. I couldn't get a good rhythm through the stages, and by Stage 4 it had got bad and almost spun a few times. I had set my car up badly and there was oversteer everywhere.

Stage 5 I had a crash and hit the rockface and lost a good 10 seconds which damaged not only my car but also my confidence, and I lost it for the rest of the event. Stage 6 was awful, the walls will tag you along and make you spin at even the slightest touch. I thought I could have done a lot better on Stage 7 as I made a few little mistakes. 8 and 9 were relatively easy but I still felt I could have gone faster. The final stage was yet again a difficult stage for us and overall I don't think our rally went too well.

Coca Cola Team Ford Press release - Ulster Rally

Ford driver Juha is a new face in the championship. He's been out of rallying for a few seasons and hase chosen Ulster for his comeback. Despite the plans to compete in a 2006 spec Focus, backed by softdrink giant Coca Cola, in the WRC, he drive a Peugeot 206 here. "The Focus is in New Zeland so we had to get this one out again", he said.
So how did it go?
"I took a slow start to get back into it, the car was bit too oversteered so a clean style was needed. It went rather well and it resulted in some surprising times during the first pair of stages. I then changed the setup which made the car too nervous (and the driver aswell). A few small errors happened but nothing big and I decided to cruise slowly to the finish instead of crashing into a wall. Particularly the last two stage were a disaster. Our weather crew expected rain so we chose raind tyres. At the moment I'm still waiting for the first drop to fall. The grip wasn't very good but it could have been worse."

Next weekend Juha will tackle the Rally of New Zealand for his return to the WRC.

I have just finished the rally. Surely not my best performance on tarmac. The rally was OK, no problems, good weather, but many small mistakes, in fact, too many. I hope I get on the podium.

The Ulster International Rally proved to be another very tough event in the CMR BRC, There were 2 brand new entries to the championship (Will & Juha), and with championship leader Cyborg_hun not taking part in this event, the leaderboard has been turned upside down!

Thank you all for participating, and I hope to see you all at the International Rally Yorkshire on October 6th!

Wow, I didn't expect to win here, but it's really nice feeling. This is my first win ever, so I am happy and my confidence is growing up. However I prefer to win when the best crew in this championship is also participating (cyborg_hun), but anyway I hope I can beat him on the next event.
