Super result for Ford. First 1-2-3 since NZ 1979! I just can't describe how happy I am :D
Thank you and well done to Mikko, Marcus and Henning and a very special mention to Jari-Matti who could have been up there on the top without the penalty

What ? P. Solberg no good ? With the crappy Subaru a 4th place behind three Ford missiles is a great result IMHO.
I would put Carlsson instead of Petter ...

Also Hanninen made a lot of errors but showed good speed (and he's quite spectacular if you ask me) and has finished very close to Pons, so ?!
X. PONS 3:47:10.1
J. HÄNNINEN 3:47:36.7

As for the C4, sometimes this car is very impressive and other times (depends on the road conditions), Loeb seems to struggle a little. Don't know the reason yet.

Anyway, the more I see it the more the C4 looks great to me.

Let's wait and see what will happen in Mexico with the new Subaru.

I have follwed Ford in rallying for 20 years plus and this has got to be one of their greatest results.
Totally fantastc result great for Mikko and for Henning!!!!!!!
Also what a briliant rally Norway is, it deserves a full time place in WRC instead of some of the other crap!!!!!!

Regarding considering Hanninen as  , let's consider it as a PWRC portuguese psicological pressure!!! :) :) :)

After reading this, for sure A.F.F. is willing to kill me!! ;)

By the way... Hirvonen has become the FIRST Gronholms teammate since 2001 (Rovanpera) to beat him on his favorite surface!!! No one could do this! Neither Burns nor Martin!

Congratulations to Mikko Hirvonen because this fantastic win. The guy handled very well the pressure and Malcon Wilson took the right decision to the last leg: Mantain positions.

Bad rally to Citroen, Loeb made two mistakes but what really worries me is the lack of skills from Sordo to learn how to drive in new snow... really strange. Also bad was Daniel Carlsson... really under expectations. Henning was also a bit under expectatios but a rally without mistakes gave him the 3rd place as a prize. Andreas Mikkelesen is a baby driver, but this guy has really potential and the 10th place proves it. High hopes to him. Happy to see Latvala on 5th but without the steering problem on 1st leg maybe the 3rd place would be possible.

Abou the rally, i think Norway is a won bet. Looking form the outside the rally look fantastic ad deserves the place on WRC for many years. The snow is really a thing that creates emotion and a lot of interest. Hope to see Norway next year on WRc because i think they deserve.

Don´t forget Monte Carlo Greece and ...........More!

I say this already in another thread! :s mokin:
 So wrc need more new rallys and new slower stages to become more intrested. Something where the organisations must think about!
Hope to see in the future more new and twisty stages everywhere!

Carlsson was the biggest dissapointment for me, im not sure if it is very clever for a guy with limited resourses to use WRC events to drive in a new co-driver, this way he gives too much advantage. Why did he change co-driver in the first place, or did this 1 come with the car?

ste898
18th February 2007, 16:03
Yes forgot Greece...

Monte Carlo is still OK just!!!

No worries mate. Although I wouldn't consider Hänninen's unbalanced performance due to portugese psychological pressure, I'm not happy about it either. I expected more from Hänninen :mark.

Hänninen made good times, but too many mistakes. Disapointments surely Carlsson and Sordo. Also the big fuss about Norwegian youngsters Mikkelsen and Östberg was a bit premature, they showed nothing special to mee.

Mikko's great drive was a positive surprise, Henning was good on day 3, but before that I reallyexpected him to show more. On the other hand, it's Henning so....

Marcus was a bit down the whole weekdend. And it was just refreshing to see Loeb make mistakes. Gardemeister good and Latvala fairly good, not as good as hyped here by many in my opinion. And Pons made a big leap from Sweden, pity he too made a mistake like Hänninen and Gardemeister. Maybe Mitsu hard to drive?

I think your arguments are a bit odd. You bash Henning and Carlsson - who made good performances and stayed in the rally. Then you praise Pons and Gardemeister who went fast - but also TOO fast. Rally is about going fast AND getting to the finish. In my eyes Carlsson was slow sometimes (friday - going first on the road in deep snow on saturday excuses the saturday) and Henning sometimes, but I rank their performance better than Pons, Gardemeister, Hänninen and many other drivers - because they all made mistakes. For sure Henning and Carlsson could have gone faster if they too were willing to risk going off...

Mitsu hard to drive? No, Carlsson got third last year and others has proven it can perform. They just went too fast.

However I agree about Hirvonen. He was just really impressive!

Is the Rally Norway too difficult? The difference in time between 1st and 10th is 14.28 min. Almost Safari times! Normally it is between 5-10 minutes.
Were the conditions so difficult, or even too difficult? Is it interesting when time gaps are so big?

SubaruNorway
19th February 2007, 14:09
It was the weather wich made it difficult on saturday it was hard to stay on the road even in a road car :D

Oh gosh !!! What happened to Anders Kjaer in the shortest stage(SS8) ???

He was therefore going steady improving pace until SS7... ;(

He went off the road about 300-400 metres from the start. To high speed into a curve. Me and 4-5 others helped them on the road again.

Anyone know what happened to Gardemeister, he was going well and then suddenly drops off the screen with no infromation as to why on ITV's coverage?

The team examined Gardemeister's Mitsubishi Lancer during the final service of leg two after the Finn had complained of high engine temperatures. They then decided to avoid any further damage to the car and withdrew from the rally.
