He's always had this potential. Subaru have finally delivered a reasonably car. What he has to do now is build the confidence and refine his technique. Something he would have been able to do last year if he had been in a reasonable car.

For me one of the best performances in Germany so far.
With a 05 car (and a Skoda not a Xsara nor a Focus), a modest team, and he is right there 5th, fighting and even with engine problems

Too bad Duval had those offs this morning. Knowing him, he may attack but keeping it easy as he MUST get to the finish. A podium place would be ideal, even if it's 3rd. If he gets up to second, it will make things bad for Marcus's championship fight against Sèb now that Sordo's layed back.

I thought that that interview was the best part of the programme! Classic Marcus, his body language and comments indicated to me that the enjoyment level was no where near that as he had in Finland.

Duval lost in first and second splits, but then was fastest in last two, almost got the stage.

Atkinson lost 6 seconds in first split, then was fastest and retook some 1,5 seconds. Maybe first runners are getting the road dirtier for the others

Another similar one is what would Loeb look like in any other car. I think Citroen build the car around him and it perfectly suits his style. Shame he doesnt try "rossi challenge" and sits into (for example) Subaru - I think he would fight with that car a lot - or is he really so good he would win with anything

If Finland was a watershed for Atkinson, then the dam has just burst. I really believe Subaru will continue to listen to Aktinson regarding setup, and Solbergs time is up. Petter always preferred an understeer setup, but that technique does not work. Petter will have to adapt soon, or he will suffer the same as McRae, good driver, but nobody is willing to pay for services.

Well having offs while going that fast is not exactly consistency.
What he is showing is that he can go fast in a regular basis, but he need to get rid of a little tendency to go off. But this year he has show what Aussie people were talkign about him 2 years ago.

Good rally so far.

Loeb is building his "cushion" to start manging the last stages, but Marcus could not feel safe with Duval and Hirvoenne so close, Interesting between them

Then we have Garde and Kopecky really fighting at the second, but Peter is not far form them, (onpy 15 secs) so he will get with them tomorrow, I am sure about it.
Finally we also to follow the impressive times by Atki!!!


Mauri A. you were just there!! Didi you opened the Rutini after the 1-2 in Finland (Marcus and Mikko), or becasue Kimi did not win that weekend, the bottle is still waiting for an appropiate weekend (Marcus 2007 title may be??)

Mikko's risk unfortunately didn't pay off and he is loosing Duval. Also Marcus have to step on it. This rally is definately not over.
