Altavista translation from http://www.pitstoptv.be/

Kronos-patron Marc van Dalen is of course in the clouds with blitz-start of François the Duval in WRC-rally of Germany. But loves this way to hear Van Dalens to be of the still what in toom. Duval won the third KP with the Kronos Xsara and lay after the first lus second on small 6 seconden of LEADER Loeb. With that Duval string the criticism of among others Manfred Stohl, which already the complete season complains concerning the undersized performances of its Kronos Xsara. Stohl were after the first 3 tests just eleventh on 1 minute and 10. Of valleys: I knew that this was possible. That shows to that good of the rapidly can go with our carriages. Previous year I got much critical that Loeb had another carriage then other of the of the team. Nothing in less where. For the team this a opsteker is after, so far, a difficult season. Our carriage is still rapidly, the scratch van Duval prove that. The parcours is at this moment dry, but because François start Duval just as 17de, he has do with a dirty road. The turnings have already driven out and nevertheless succeed he rapidly drive. He has fun at this moment and I have a special manner to keep him in kalm. What that is, I tells Sunday, after the rally.

i have a theory.

before citreon trimmed back the customer xsara so as not to take points of sordo on gravel. now kronos/citroen have duval back in the seat, to take points from ford, so they have given duval a very quick car. but if stohl got the same 'quick' car as duval, he would be very annoyed that he didnt get the same car all year....

no?

it would be possible and logical move from citroen

Team instruction for him :

First to stay on road, secondly to push the car but still finish behind Loeb because Loeb need maximum points for the DC. So no way to overtake Loeb unless Marcus is on fire

Duval is a Manufacturer Team entry so he will bring points to Kronos as Kronos is a Manufacturer Team. There is a difference between a Manufacturer and a Manufacturer Team, Kronos, Stobart and Munchi's are a Manufacturer Team where as BP Ford, Citroen and Subaru are a Manufacturer.

So it was van Eldik who was 1st on road, but still, why not van Merksteijn?Organizers put Sordo (who should start 16th) and Atkinson in different start position because they are faster than competitors like Al Qassimi and Van Merksteijn. So Van Merksteijn will probably start 16th.

been to the rally yesterday, and I've seen 4 (!!) stages and a servicepark..
It looked to me that Marcus is losing time in the hairpins, maybe it's stupid to say this about a championship leader, but it looks to me that he's not as agressive as Duval, Loeb and Sordo.. But today there aren't such hairpins as there were yesterday, so maybe he'll have a chance..
It was a very good day, and we've been to the interviews after the last service, quit good to stand between Loeb, Grönholm and Duval, rallying is still very open for spectators!

Now for second day, c'mon Marcus and Francois

He's definitely generated news but is that a good PR is entirely another question. Thumbing your nose isn't exactly the best way to sell cars and manus are in to do that. So, as a team manager I wouldn't look at Duval twice. Which explains why he was booted from Citroen and hasn't gotten a works drive since despite his skills.

He hasn't got good experiences with the press: he didn't get the Kronos seat earlier because of an article in the Belgian newspaper La Dernière Heure if I remember correctly. I guess he just wants to focus on the driving, he gave an answer to all the criticists yesterday by setting mindblowing times all day.

And I think he's also aware of the fact he sounds very funny in English. :)

Edit: And I know I'm walking on a thin line here, but I prefer a driver that doesn't talk that much and brings some excitement to the sport now and then, than a driver that talks too much and is now 8th in the overall standing with a manufacturer car.
