Reports say the latest turmoil at McLaren are taking their toll taken their toll on Dennis.

It's not every day that you hear Ron Dennis saying he's handing his team over to someone else to oversee, but that's just what he's doing over the next week, adding fuel to speculation that he's preparing to step down.

It's interesting this article's writer refers to Ron as the founding member of the team. What happened to Bruce?

He is a founder of the current iteration of McLaren which is a merger between Bruce's McLaren, and his Project Four. He essentially took over bruce's team, entering it into his own. The McLaren Group was entirely created by Dennis, who has headed it since it's inception.

Bruce died a decade before this even occured. He was never a factor in "McLaren" It was all Ron

All he needs is just a good swivel from the new team boss, LH and he will be good to go.

the same edition has another article stating how LH is going to reunite team mclaren

Maybe he will give them all a good swivel to sit on at the new boss LH's meeting of reunification, that will get them
:bounce: :bounce:

as to FA, a big   should bring warm fuzzies to FA and amke him forget all about that massager therapist or whatever....

Fact is he could change the name of the team to
Hamie's "Travelling Church of Reunification" with free  to all true believers. Amen, brothers and sisters, gather round.....

I don't think ol' Ron is ready to throw in the towel just yet. If McLaren win the titles this year he may step back a little from the day-to-day running of the team before selling his shares and retiring in a couple of years time.

I can't see Dennis stepping down in the middle of a title fight. It's not his style and, as much I as dislike the guy, I will give him credit for being a fierce competitior.

Unless I'm wrong, already a few years ago there was talk of RD retiring, when he promoted Martin Witmarsh. It was around the same time that Sam Michaels was promoted in Williams, and it just happened that both teams flunk, so maybe that cooled things down a bit.

The team is basically run by others anyway, Ron is just there to oversee strategy for the company and to appear at races etc.

McLaren existed because of Bruce McLaren. Without him there would have been no McLaren team for Marlboro and Project 4 to buy into in 1980. That takeover was very similar to many that have happened since, except that Ron Dennis retained the McLaren name and traditions, to the extent of running new cars in the original orange McLaren colour on a couple of occasions. There's a clear line from Bruce McLaren Motor Racing that was founded in 1963, to the McLaren team we see today - A short McLaren history (http://www.grandprix.com/gpe/con-mclar.html).

As for Dennis stepping down, he's talked about that for a while, but it seems PlanetF1 have decided to spin the fact of RD taking a holiday into something it isn't.

Indeed. The 3 week break we are now in is intended for exactly that purpose, for team personel to be able to take holidays.

Although unless you are a driver or a team boss, I doubt anybody is going on any holidays any time soon :p

read all about it.

RD caught having a dump. reports suggest that IBS has been brought on by the FIA investigation and the continuing blood fued between its warring drivers.
