I've just had a look down the entries for the Britcar 24 hours (77 cars and counting!!) and come across this entry......

44 Colin White BMW M3 E46

Surely not?

He has raced the Britcar 24hr before.

Colin's done the Willhire before, back in 2005 when it was horrendously wet - and here's the proof:

Personally I abhor Silverstone, but would I go to cheer on Colin? Maybe, it's a tough call as I've already got a commitment stewarding at a cat show in Maidstone the same weekend... :disturb: Will have to see how things pan out.

I posted thginking it must be another "Colin White" but lo and behold he HAS a Bimmer so the entry could be him!

I agree with Reynard it was a cold wet horrible 24hr weather wise. What made it worse for me was I had just done a night shift got home had something too eat then off to Silverstone.....only made about 22hrs so I listened to the ending on the radio.

I'll say it here, I'm also toying with doing it. It's something I've wanted to do for some time.

Yes, and do you remember we were bumbling around in the dark and peeing rain at half two in the morning looking for an open toilet block? It was a trult miserable meeting.

Personally I prefer the 2CV 24 hours at Snet... ;)

Now I wonder if I can persuade any of you drivers to enter - it's an absolute hoot! :cheese:

Colin has raced numerous times in britcar and european endurance races, many times sharing with (ex ascar) Kevin Clarke.

Rob, if you want a drive in this years race? give me a call, we have 3 cars entered.

Thanks Henry.

Having a look there, they have an old Ford Falcon (older than Adam Sharpes), but let's see what the PM's bring....

I have a friend who would probably back me for that, but he "hates NASCAR" so he won't back me for Rockingham (dammit!)

Yes, I certainly remember the Britcar 24 being a bit wet!

We are running the Falcon (yes older than Adam sharpes, but is undergoing a mighty rebuild, many K's spent!) plus 2 M3 bmw's.

Thanks GeeBee2 that brought back some memories of that weekend. I went to Silverstone last weekend to the Classic meeting. It was a dry day on Saturday UNTIL the very last race which didn't start until 7.30pm when it belted it down just like it did for the 24hr race in 2005.
