Unfortunately we had sad news :-(

Today the co-driver Ludek Kocman from car No 81 died in hospital after heavy accident at SS 3 Pindula. Official announcement is at http://www.barum.rally.cz.

The competition will run tomorrow, but probably without ceremonials at finish. Also accompanying program during second leg will be cancelled.

Ludek Kocman was 49 years old. RIP.

That would be a little disaster for the current IRC leader if he lost his position seeing Ojeda taking the lead and Vouilloz seriously reducing the gap :s

Navarra is so disappointing, I can't remember any great moment from him this season. (apart from his Safari "victory" where he came home 3rd place...)

okay gravel specialist, but his performance in Turkey or Russia was also not impressive, and I mean the performance not the result where he profitted from others bad luck.
And he has much more kms under his belt with the car than Travaglia, Alen or Loix. Fiat should give that seat to Basso this year too!

Because in ERC isn't superally for whole event. If you want to see his times, you must check MMCR (czech championship) or ERC - second leg :cool:

First of all, the deepest sympathy with Kocman's family and friends ;( . It was the most tragical incident in the whole history of Barum rally and I cannot understand any reason why the car went off and hit the tree.

If I forget the tragedy - it was an amazing rally with maximum attack of many drivers (Vouilloz, Ojeda, Loix, Allen, Kresta, Pech, .....), crowds of spectactors, etc. etc. etc. Drivers were pushing very hard and it was a great pleasure to watch them on special stages.

ahahah, well, I became a big fan of Billy Casazza this season. Really interesting co-driver. In Madeira it seems that he almost lost the voice after two days of hard competition..

My impressions from spectator's point of wiev...

The only terrible thing was that tragic crash. I think any comment is useles now. Rest in peace, Luděk... :(

Except that it was a fantastic rally with crowds of people at all accessible places on stages. Realy "big boys" style of driving from many crews. On saturday I was impressed mostly by Loix, Ojeda and Kresta. I was on stages 3/7 Pindula and 5 Kudlovice. Today i was impressed mostly by Travaglia, Vouilloz and Kresta again, that on stages 11 Janišov and 13 Zádveřice. On friday super stage Luca Betti and Janosz Toth were very spectacular too. Roman Odložilík was close to roll his car when he ran over a tyre obstacle. Shakedown was also interesting, Travaglia, Pech, Loix and Vouilloz looked very fast there, Ojeda very smooth, Toth sideways once. But the most crazy style was performed by Pokladník on Felicia Kit Car :) I can't name all who performed great way but I must say I was realy surprised by Anton Alén! Despite he didn't know tarmac rallying he was one of the fastest at all, especialy on the hardest saturday stage Pinndula. I was also surprised by Janosz Toth's speed but of course not as much as by Alén. There was huge number of punctures, crashes and retirements but it is traditional here.

Congratulations to Nicolas Vouilloz. To win this rally in first attempt, that's realy impressive. Ojeda had a bit bad luck, but many had much more. And also I think third place for Pech is fantastic for him. Last year he had a puncture, this year Kresta had a puncture. That's rallying...
