Hi,

Next week-end is the fourth event of french gravel rallies championship... :D

This event also counts as the 4th round of the french 206 Cup ;)

Entrylist:
http://www.rally-news.org/news/index/1482

It seems there are mistakes in this entrylist: Dominique Bruyneel in a Subaru Impreza GrN instead of his usual Toyota Corolla WRC, Guillaume Canivenq in a Clio R3 whereas he's official Peugeot driver,... :s

Note that swiss drivers Olivier Burri(Seat Cordoba WRC!!!)and Olivier Gillet(Subaru Impreza GrN)are also in the list :)

Not so long ago Olivier Gillet was competing in Ypres Rally, a round of European Historic Championship, with a classic Alfa Romeo :)

Leg 1 over since yesterday evening :p :

Very good rally until now for the foreign drivers !!!

Best of them is Swiss Olivier Burri running in the "french" Seat Cordoba WRC who is 7th overall(being unfortuneately hampered by engine cut problems)...

The GrN is lead by two french drivers(Thomas Privé and Jean-Eric Petit)but after them you have Belgians Bernard Munster, Bob Colsoul, Dominique Bruyneel and Swiss Olivier Gillet all with very small gaps !!! :bounce:

At last, in the french 206 Cup, Swiss Laurent Reuche and German Karl-Friedrich Beck are 3rd and 4th(leader of the cup is Sébastien Ogier one of the best french rally rookies, maybe even the future Loeb of Peugeot who absolutely wants to keep him in 2008!!!)

Note that other Swiss Rodolfo Esposito and Spanish David Nafria are within the top20(positions where you get points in the cup) ;)

Logical overall leader is Jean-Marie Cuoq in his whale with a gap of 1m27s over Alain Deveza(Subaru Impreza GrA)but the huge surprise are the Renault Clio R3 drivers Cédric Robert and Manu Guigou leading the 2WD and being 3rd and 4th overall

Both are in front of GrN leader Thomas Priv&#233 ;( Subaru Impreza) and Julien Pressac(207 S2000 from BSA)...

Today 6 shorter stages to go...

Rally's just over !!!

New and logical victory for Jean-Marie Cuoq with his whale... ;)
Alain Deveza in the old Impreza GrA from the belgian Munster team(with Kumho tyres) finished 2nd and takes 2nd position in championship too...

FANTASTIC final podium for Julien Pressac in the BSA 207 S2000 !!!! :D

Even more incredible, the huge pace of the Renault Clio R3 on this event with tarmac ace Cédric Robert getting his 1st 2WD win on gravel(4th overall simply CRAZY!!!)
Unfortuneately Manu Guigou in the other Clio R3 had problems in the penultimate stage(SS11)and lost lot of time, to end 9th overall(still 2nd of the 2WD)...

Excellent performance from the Belgians in GrN, Munster finishing 2nd, Bruyneel, 3rd and Colsoul 4th(Petit won the group)
Swiss Olivier Gillet ended 6th of GrN...

Other Belgian "tarmac specialist" Claudie Tanghe, driving a Toyota Celica GT, finished 10th overall that is a good pace for a debutant...

In the 206 Cup, fantastic victory for Sébastien Ogier who was leader from the start of the event(I more than believe he's the next Sébastien Loeb in France!! He started rallying last year only and already in the 206 Cup as "Rallye-Jeunes")...

Foreign drivers of the 206 Cup had a good result too, Swiss Laurent Reuche finished 3rd overall(his first podium), German Karl-Friedrich Beck 4th overall, other Swiss Rodolfo Esposito 10th overall and Spanish tarmac specialist David Nafria finished 15th...

All in all it was a very very interesting and nice rally !! :bounce:
