The concept of a "trike" is nothing new. This has been around, and street legal, for some time now:

The Peugeot 20Cup was showed off earlier this year and probably as a hint to the 207.

I imagine that such a vehicle would be extremely taily with the rear of the car acting as a pendulum. With only half the traction at the rear, it seems to be very easy to swing it round and perhaps swap the tail.

Nothing new under the sun, Morgan knew a thing or two when they designed their trike with two wheels at the front and one at the back. This leads to a surprisingly stable platform. I built a Lomax trike ages ago out of a 2CV, the best fun you can have out of 36bhp ever! It would lift one of the inside front wheels if you pushed hard enough, which allowed the diff to spin, so all the torque disappeared. A very neat way to prevent you from rolling it.

The other Reliant popularised configuration of single front wheel is nothing short of a liability!
