take a look at this video and can anyone tell my why it has to verions of the the racing mondeo 93-96 rear and 97-99 front but it does sound amazing though :)

Because they've upgraded the front end. Simple as that. The early Mondeo from Andy Rouse sounded best. By the time Prodrive got their hands on it, it sounded like a squashed hairdryer. :s

Maybe it was crashed, and the cheapest spare parts were the newer model, all the mounting points are probably still the same

By upgrading aero or engine updates,hopefully you can become more competitive. And hopefully being more competitive, will mean more trophies, prizemoney and sponsorship. Or preferably all three! :D

Didn't Matt Neal do that to a Mondeo in 1997 only to replace it with a Primera half way through?

No, his Mondeo was a 4 door facelifted version that Dynamics built themselves from scratch.
