Why must we have ads now underneath the last post of every thread???? They are really irritating.

Some of the ads have now gone, although the one above post reply in this thread offers indoor karting in Glasgow which I'm simply not interested in :D

I'd rather have a few ads than pay a subscription or lose the forum.

Just so long as they're silent and avoid pop-ups I'll put up with them.

I agree with Dave, a few ads pays the bills so we don't have to. :D
It's a sort of an unwritten rule of the internet, "if it's free you will get ads".

Completely agree there Dave :)

We already did have ads, but they were at the top of the page and so completely fine.

I've never complained about those, I dislike the ones at the bottom of every thread.

Download Mozilla Firefox and get the extension "Adblock". There are lots of different versions, just google it.

I never see them at all.

Who cares. They're silent and non-popup ones so it's all gut!

Well, I don't particularly wish to feel like I'm being spammed to death. Its getting ridiculous.

It's not spam :mark: Do you know what "spam" is?

If you don't like it you could always find somewhere else I guess :)

So now were not supposed to complain about forum stuff anymore?
Bad, bad ads! :)

Don't complain about a free service which is very good is what I'm saying.....

Why shouldn't we complain?
The options aren't simple as "if you don't like leave", this is why there is this feedback section, want something to change, give feedback, even if it's not what the "management" want's to hear.

But what is there to complain about? Lots of other forums have more intrusive ads and the content isn't even half as good. I like most of the content here and the ads aren't very intrusive at all compared to what they could be.....

Mind you, not every one is you.

It could be worse is not a good reason not to complain either. ;)

But it could be better and I'm bored isn't a reason to complain either

So when in your mind should one complain?
When things are ok? :p :

When the ads really impact upon your ability to use the site. Try using the tomshardware.com forums and you'll see what I mean!

But it's relevant to me. There's one down there the now advertising supercar driving experiences at Goodwood, it's too far away from me. :p :

I don't find them intrusive and at the end of the day, they help the site in a small way. :)
