Help!

Bit of a dilemma here. Ive managed to win myself (i make it sound bad) a pair of weekend tickets to the French GP (it isnt ;) ). We've never been to France before and my French is a bit limited.

We've also never been camping to a GP before, or indeed, camping anywhere other than a back garden (thats me and my dad, anyway, i've camped with Scouts and stuff in the past!).

The only tent we have access to would make Red Bull's hospitality look a bit shabby, which is a problem, considering that the spaces they give us are, aledgedly, 25 sq m. My dad Vauxhall Vectra takes up half of that!

Now, my idea would be to find some brits and persuading them they like us enough to share our tent (we'd only be using half), and having 50 sq m to play with, but thats a long shot really (and possibly hazardous to health!).

Im told that also the 25 sq m is a bit vague, and to be fair the camping area is huge, so we could probably get away with more, but if we chance it and then get told off on the day it'd be mighty irritating!

So, my request. Does anyone have a decent quality tent, enough to comfortably house 2 people and a selection of BBQ's for a weekend. We used to use Challenger tents with Scouts a few years back, im looking for something a bit bigger than that (thats kinda a bit small really, no room to move around really), so something thats around, say, 15 sq m.

Im thinking something this size-ish;

Would anyone be able to help out and lend me a tent? I could pick it up at the weekend and drop it back at the next meeting. We could, i suppose, pay for the priviledge!

What kind of crappy prize doesn't include a 5* hotel, limos and a helicopter shuttle in and out of the GP? ;)

I suggest posting this in the F1 or Trackside forums, you might get more responses. Most of us will be getting ready to go to Silverstone, and need to know all camping kit etc is ready to go in full working order. :)

The F1 forum is a decent shout, posted in here mainly because i know some of you will (read: may) be using it this weekend!

We shall see though!

Each to their own - Silverstone GP is a great chance to meet up with old friends and enjoy a beer or two and the odd cremated sausage. The daytime activities still hold interest too - and I plan to have a great event. :)

May I be Lord Harbinger of Doom here....

All things are inter-related.

This weekend is Glastonbury Festival. Fact - it always p's with rain.

Wimbledon fortnight - always p's with rain (1976 being the exception)

It starts on Monday 25th June, and ends on Sunday 8th July.

The British GP is Sunday 8th July...

It will be wetter than a bucket of water skillfully placed on the top of a door waiting for an unsuspecting orange bedecked marshall to walk below....

Take yer wellies!

Rob.
