They had a Super Touring Championship in 1996 and 1997

Back in the 'proper' Trans-Am days of the late 60s and early 70s, it was a Touring Car Championship in everything but name.

Nothing like WTCC, BTCC or DTM, but you do, it's nascar.

The World Challenge, touring car class definitely looks a lot like the S2000 at times!

I've suggesed the WC should make their top class officially a S2000 one. Currently, a lot of the top (semi-works) teams are running sedans like the Mazda6, Acura TSX (Honda Accord), BMW E90 and Audi A4. Then there are some Jettas, Dogde SRTs, Volvo S40s that occasionally race. And finally other 2 door coupes like the RSX, Honda Civic
