Hi, until yet, I havenīt listened nothing about it. Have you heared any rumour about it (October)?

What has been confirmed is that next year's edition will be held in Gran Canaria from April 24 to 27.

That would be great to have all tarmac events together. Just need to put Saudi somewhere in the middle

Someone can confirm if it is true that half of the stages of day1 on Rally Saudi Arabia MERC (supposely the evalution event to WRC) were cancelled cause lack of marshalls?
How can affect WRC round?

I heard only one stage (both runs) was cancelled yesterday.

All stages have run so far today.

eWRCshows stages 1, 4 & 6 were cancelled.

The Stewards documents (Decision No 3) on Sportity also show a competitor was fined for driving for more than 1 km the wrong way on SS11 until they met another ccompetitor coming the other way!

Same crew was stopped by the police for something. Bad weekend huh. But how did they not have a device yelling and flashing at them?

Let's be realistic, no amount of safety issues on the candidate event will stop the WRC round from going ahead. There is far too much money involved.

Hopefully they can get their act together by November.

Exactly. There is only one word and one world only for this event.

MONEY

Were there any safety incidents that were the fault of th eorganisers?

EVen the stewards declared that the actions of the driver going the wrong direction were 'reckless'.....

Heard that test rally for Saudi Arabia was a mess. Huge security problems, even cars driving wrong way on the stages lol

That's impossible. How could that be, they got never before seen 10-year deal without even trying.

It is urgent clean the FIA. That guy is the worst president ever.

Isn't the promoter the one who chooses who gets to be on the calendar?

Yes.

But I bet the FIA take a lot of the money generated....

With Ben as president of FIA and Saudi getting the spot cemented for such a long period without any previous events held there, it's obviously who decide what.

money decides.
saudi is injecting a huge quantity of cash into sport washing and cultural washing. they got good footballer, they host foreign sport event (like Italy football cup, but also word championships), they're trying to get into euroleague basketball, and did a huge tennis tournament. they host huge music festivals. they already have f1 and motogp in the area...
fia is really marginal for them, they have enough money to bypass any president.

Doubt he'll be able to challenge all that money, but in any case, I hope he gets elected and not the clown in disguise we have now (that's actively ruining our sport and other discplines while he's at it).

carlos is in favor of "simple cheap cars" so the national/local drivers can compete in wrc when it is in town. im IN.

I pretty think that all F1 will fund his "electoral campaign" to get rid of the clown and get back to normal. This would benefit both championships eventually...
