Creighton looked to have stopped for a while on the tracking !?
Edit: Seems a timing glitch, same time as Ingram apparently.
Always take tracking with a pinch of salt, all the systems are not 100%

Definitely... Ingram just looked stopped for ages on SS6, next thing he was through and on the road section !

Ingram has won every stage so far and took 14s out of Creighton on SS6. He just needs to get safely through the last one to be BRC Champion 2024.

An entry for Monte? It would make sense for his sponsors.

Hopefully, we can see them all return next season, for another title contest. The championship basically coming down to the final stage is as good as it gets.

im not that into the WRC2 but that should be the logical step. if toyota is looking for some presence there if pajari moves up in 2025, they should look no further imo. such a fun character. and bring castrol too and you have the coolest car of the season too. its a win win win win situation haha

He's had a couple of goes at WRC2 but the budget hasn't really been there or the car/team havent been quite good enough. This is why he ended up back in the BRC, with the right team and enough sponsorship for the season.
Toyota only have a customer programme, not a works team. MEM and Castrol plus his other sponsors would come up with a lot more money to get him into WRC2 and that's a big ask.

Breaking news. Castrol MEM Rally Team to take part in Rally Japan !
Chris Ingram and Alex Kihurani will compete in the WRC2 class with the iconic Castrol Yaris next month.
Wow !

I missed this article as I don’t generally check out dirtfish anymore these days:

Question is, would be held on the first weekend of June as ‘Scottish Rally GB’ ? It seems we don’t get 40 degree summers anymore so it wouldn’t be yet another dust-fest!

I think it's all academic really. For the amount of money needed just for the hosting fee, it's just not worth the use of what will likely be public money. I've seen plenty of comments, and the naivety from many astounds me. I think most UK rally fans want the WRC back in the country, but for me it's not at any cost; the current WRC isn't worth the money.
If however, a private backer/ commercial sponsor thinks it's worth it, then good luck to them.

At least at that time of the year there wasn't much dust & dark, even though they ran all through the night.

Yeah to be fair the 40 degree summers was a couple years only 3 or 4 years ago. And maybe working outside has skewed my view of how wet the last two summers have been compared to the norm!

Rally Anglo-Caledonian numbers lower than I thought, 78 entries for the full two-day event, with an additional 5 Saturday only entries and 31 Sunday only entries. Could have been worse, but I was hoping for a few more. Entry closing date was 31st Oct, so there could be a couple of late entries.
I'm sure it will still be a great event, though I can't help but feel that having the Malton, Wyedean and Grizedale within a few weeks is not helping things.

It seems to be a common theme in UK rallying; events close together, and then periods without nothing.......

Yeah, we've often seen rallying moaning about the leisure side impacting on rallying - and MTB gets mentioned; however MTB is fighting it's corner in some parts as it seems they're not wanted either. Quite a few articles on MTB websites, forums, and even petitions.

Interesting to see the Cambrian Rally on ITV and that Creighton's spin was caused by him being distracted by a marshal. I hadn't heard this before, dont know if you guys had ?
Anyway, it was quite a good highlights package, well-filmed and and an improvement on some earlier rounds. Great Welsh autumnal scenery and glorious weather too.

It isn't just the MTB's though, it's all the other forest users. I was running a passage control at the Langdale end of the Dalby Forest Drive many years ago when a family turned up wanting to enter the forest from that end and the driver complained bitterly that "He hadn't been told" the forest drive was closed for the day and that they'd driven all the way from Middlesborough. Going around to the other end & driving into the forest to watch the rally just wasn't acceptable. If the local forestry office got complaints of that nature regularly over the summer months then it's no surprise that they want to restrict rallying to the colder months.

Bit of a pity that Rob Jones wasn't there to give Stig some competition. He did 25 consecutive Cambrian Rallies in his Mini!

The Grizedale Stages this weekend will make use of Grizedale East twice: https://www.ewrc-results.com/timetable/87131-grizedale-stages-rally-2024/
If all the forestry allocations of both GSR and MWR were clubbed together in one rally that would be one hell of a rally!

When the Malcolm Wilson Rally was a British Rally Championship round in 2023 this is what I kind of hoped would happen. The extra mileage would mean full usage of as much lake district roads as possible. Unfortunately the event had stages cancelled before the rally and due to weather. But agree the idea itself is a great one although I imagine organisationally difficult.

I wonder how late into the spring/early into the autumn access would be allowed to avoid the threat of snow. Both to the Grizedale forests and the Whinlatter forests.

Rally Cancellation
Due to Storm Darragh with forecast winds of over 60mph, Forest England have announced the closure of Grizedale Forest on Saturday 7th December. Obviously, this means the rally cannot proceed. Although disappointing, the Coppermines Lakes Cottages Grizedale Stages Rally organisers fully support their decision on grounds of safety. Thank you for entering the event, your support is very much appreciated. The Entries Secretary will be in touch in the next couple of days regarding refunds and plans for next year’s event. Please note that all of Grizedale Forest will be closed on Saturday 7th December so please do not attempt access the forest.
