It's been awhile since anyone has posted anything in here so I'm gonna bump it back up the page a tad.

Three things.

1) Nice pictures Corny.

2) Anyone played the MotoGP 08 game? Gotta say overall I like it although they got the sounds of the 125 and 250 bikes horribly wrong (the 250's ain't four-strokes Capcom)

3) Speaking of gaming, my Playstation 3 broke, it's only 7 weeks old and the blu-ray drive crapped itself. So it's off to Sony so that they can replace it with a second hand version. Sony, you f'ing suck.

4) I was wrong there are four things, and here they are:

wow..., is anyone here watching Supermoto? It might be championship in the same package with motocrossmx1, but I'd prefer Supermoto as they race at the track relatively clean.

My Xbox 360 version is in the mail and until it arrives I downloaded the PC version.

I'm playing it on my PC with my 360 controller for 2 days now. I think its great. I only did one MotoGP quick race and I've been racing 125s, they are great fun.

The way the game works seems the same as SBK 08 (also developed by Milestone) the game launcher is the same and the file types and directories both the games use are the same. I wonder if its possible to transfer bikes, riders, tracks...

I got a 360 and had the well known ring of death or whatever the nerds call it. Took it back to the shop where I bought it and they said that they'd had so many come back that Microsoft would only refund to them if they had proof that the owner had phoned the helpline. SO I phone Microsoft and speak to an overly polite American guy for about 45 minutes, during which time he managed to establish what I already knew (it was f**ked). To be fair though they sent me all the stickers to put it on courier and within 2 or 3 weeks I had it back again. That was over a year ago and (touch wood) I haven't had a problem since.

I tend to avoid bike games now because I find that they are strangely lacking and most of my time is spent on FIFA 09 and Call of Duty 4 (has to be the best multiplayer game that I have ever played......EVER!!!! :D

I had started a career, I won the 125 championship with the ISPA KTM team then stepped up to the 250's with the Lotus Aprilia squad but then my PS3 died and you can't copy the save game info so I'll have to start again I guess. :(

I love Supermoto, awesome fun to ride, I go ride as often as I can and these days it's usually 50% motocross, 50% supermoto. Great to watch live too.

Just a couple of photos to add, not gridgirls this time just a few to celebrate the CEV Supersport championship won by my friend Angel Rodriguez. He's got the title wrapped up with still a round to go (actually he had it wrapped up with two rounds to go) and is so far the perfect 6 for 6 in race wins. Great job Rodri.

Oh to live in Europe where weekend trips to a GP or WSB are possible. Oh well.

Quick question. Of the people old enough on this forum, how many of you have had a high school reunion?
I had my 10 year reunion a couple of weekends ago (man oh man that time disappeared quick!). I was slightly apprehensive about it but figured that it was fairly close to home and if I didn't like it I could always leave. I must say, I thoroughly enjoyed it, catching up for a chat with lots of people that I hadn't seen since school including a few that I never even liked at school. It was a really weird feeling at the start seeing so many familiar faces for the first time on soo long (and some no longer familiar faces). The only embarrassing thing I found was that my friend knew more people than I did even though she only went to my school for 2 years. Meh, it was fun anyway and if anyone else has the opportunity, I would highly recommend going, even just for curiosities sake.

Yeah how great would it be if instead of going interstate we could go inter country like the y do over there..

How many countries would I go through in the 2000 kms it takes me to get to Phillip Island??

High School reunions are good and bad!! I have been to a couple now and they are ok I guess. My husband had a reunion for the school he went to out west (queensland) and that was really good fun..

I went to a private girls school .....and girls can be rather ....your friend will understand!! I bet none of them from my school even know what MotoGP is!!

Forgot to say I might go SBK's on Nurburgring, so my calendar for 2009:

-WSBK Assen
-WSBK Nurburgring*
-MOTOGP Assen
-MOTOGP Sachsenring
-MOTOGP Brno*

not sure about the 2 with the stars, but I hope I can continue my plans on them

I had my 'five years since I left uni' reunion this summer (it was actually four years for me, since I did a longer course than most people but to keep our year together it works like that) - I wasn't expecting to be too fussed about that cos with Facebook and mobile phones and stuff you have easy access to most people who you're that bothered about keeping in touch with, but ended up quite enjoying it. There are some situations where you'd kinda quite like to keep in touch with people but don't end up doing so, so the occasional reunion type thing can be pretty good. Likewise as with Clint, there were people who I didn't talk to much at uni but ended up talking to on the reunion. Through Facebook I got in touch with a few people who I went to junior school with (up to age 11 - I'm now 27) but a reunion has yet to be fully sorted - that would be quite interesting with a lot of things having gone on since then!

Nice calendar Corny.

So far mine's only MotoGP Donington (been every year since 2001) and WSB Donington. If it's restored to the calendar, I'll add WSB Brands Hatch which I've been to before. Am also seriously considering a trip to Portimao for WSB 2009.

In my 'future possibilities' pile is Monza (WSB), Mugello (MotoGP), Catalunya (MotoGP), Sachsenring (MotoGP), Brno (either), Assen (either)...

I visited my reunion once, but it wasn't 10 years reunion, it was only three years after graduating high school. There were not too much changes, except a friend unavoidably get married young. The girl that I liked when we were studying still looked nice..

I wasn't too good at creating my environment alive, but my popularity among our classmate wasn't too bad, relating to my ability playing some instruments besides I keep my appearance neat in front of female student..

In therms of money, you should go to Assen. It's far cheaper than the other 3 GPs in your possibilities. For 70 euro you can see the whole weekend.. (saturday on the grass)

Don't try that in Mugello. In therms of distance grandstand to track, Sachsenring and Assen are the closest, from what I've heard. You can even see that on a playstation game..

Of course, with the new British start in GPs, there were a lot more British spectators last year in Assen.. So you should do that as well, Patnicholls ;)

You can always ask me when help is needed on Assen

Good to see there's a few folk popping in even though we're pretty quiet in the off-season, Jan.

Once again we're bounding into the new year with things looking bright for our racing series - 32 bikes already confirmed for WSB plus looking like a very decent turnout in Supersport once more. 125s very healthy and even the 250s entry is up from last year despite KTM's pullout, plus an extra MotoGP bike though a couple more would even better at some point. Meanwhile the F1 world continues to lurch between triumph, 'scandal' and disaster... :p

I think we're still very much the place to be for the best racing around.

Haha :D

I'm not entirely sure I've ever given an infraction per se - a couple of times when there's been something genuinely inappropriate said I've told people off and removed it, but since infractions exist as a kind of 'permanent record' I don't really believe in them.

Obviously I ban spammers and the odd objectionable so-and-so (DezinerPaul, anyone? :p )

Sorry about the loss of the watch. You'd be really ticked off about that.

Hear hear, I really enjoy this forum, it is by far the best around for motorcycle racing, no bitching, no ranting, no one-eyed nutso fans (Westy's fans aside :p ), just good people discussing racing. Hi all, I'm back. Since moving back to Australia 5 months ago, I have been very busy with work and trying to sort out my wife Helen's migration from China, so I have had very little time to do much else. We are playing the waiting game now, but, it shouldn't be too long now before she is able to get back here. I am living in Shoalwater, (near Rockingham in WA) and like it here. I live about 100 metres from the waters edge, which is so nice. I am taking up fishing, so I can catch some fresh ones for Helen when she gets here, though I don't eat fish at all, I enjoy catching them. The downside to living here is the daily commute to Perth every day (120 km there and back). I am yet to buy a car, but am using my uncles 1992 Ford Festiva,(Mazda 121). When I first started using the car 6 months ago, it had only traveled 39,000 km and has now covered 58,000 km. My work as a CSR see's me driving up to 12 hours per day, I am averaging 2,000 km for work, as well as the 600 km commute each week. It is very tiring. I will be buying a car soon, I will be looking for a Toyota Hilux dual cab ute\tray, or the equivelent,(Nissan,Mazda,Rodeo,Mitsubishi etc). I am also looking at a motorcycle, perhaps a road trail that I can load into the ute. I will be taking Helen all across Australia, camping, exploring, fishing, meeting all my relatives, so, the dual cab, bike combo is the way to go. I have just had Foxtel installed, so I am all ready for the start of the racing season. I will be able to watch the WSBK\SS, BSBK/SS, AMASBK and Motogp without all the hassle for the first time, so I am chuffed about that. I hope to be here all the time now that all has settled down, and I have got myself organised. I hope you are all well, and I look forward to chatting with you all, and hope 2009 is a great one for racing action. Take care, and I will see you in the forums. Maxu05\ John

Nice to hear from you John.

Your place sounds very nice and relaxing (though I find fishing utterly frustrating) but wow, what a commute! That's a lot of driving every day.
You'll love watching the bike racing on Fox. The coverages are excellent (though I really dislike the WSB commentary but you can't win 'em all) and, especially in your neck of the woods, it's all done and dusted at a reasonable hour of the night. There's plenty of other good things to watch as well.
I hope all things go speedy well with your wife and you can both settle in quickly. It'll be great to hear more from ya this year in what promises to be one of the greatest seasons of bike racing we've ever seen. And I get to enjoy it with the best forum on the internet bar none!

Hi John.. Its good to hear thatyou are settling in well. Hopefully your wifes migration will soon be all sorted too.

I'm sure you'll like the Foxtel coverage of the racing.. but as already said the supers commentary is a bit.. I guess thats what volume control is for!!

MrJan
11th February 2009, 02:30
I didn't mean to come across as making a joke of the whole thing. I haven't seen a lot of coverage, just a few seconds here and there, and aren't aware as to the scale or the locations. Thought that I might be asking a question similar to the 'do you know the Queen' one so I chucked in a throwaway comment to lighten it a bit. Perhaps I was too glib but I did mean the original question genuinely as I know that there are Aussies on here from all over the place.

Sorry if it caused any offence.

Ok, I am not an Aussie but I can feel the empathy from having disaster occurred there and could understand well all of you trying to say... ;)

Perhaps it is an advice according to general condition to use water for the accident if not fire extinguisher ...

After all, every accident is usually bitter but I try to understand that each occurrence possess wisdom.

@ Corny.. It won't be my Roby!! :)

I will most likely take a week or two off and head over for the Motogp. I am not sure if I will have a bike by then, and even if I do, I will trailer it over from Perth and ride it once I am there, (it would be too much for Helens little butt as a pillion all the way to Sydney from Perth). We must plan to meet up Roby, and perhaps we, (forum members) can meet up and have an ale or 2 together. As for the comments by Jan, I am sure we forgive you mate, after all, we are always joking about, so it would be easy for you to hear a little about it, make light of it, not knowing the full story on the extent of the situation. Remember, what is front page here, is a little snippet of news in many other countries. My heart goes out to all those effected, as I have seen all this first hand. I lived most of my life in the lower Blue Mountains, near Sydney and had to deal with bushfires every year. I was also posted to the Holsworthy Barracks, (ARMY) during the 90's, and helped fight the fires through the National parks, trying to save houses in the Sutherland area during my Christmas holidays. As for this thread being here, as well as one being in the Chit Chat forum, I think that it's fine. This is the Motorcycle community\fans discussing the situation. Hope you are all well, and ready for the racing action. Better go, must go and organise my fantasy team, we are going to kick butt this year.
By the way, thanks for all the kind words and thoughts on my return  I feel all warm and fuzzy now (:

Helens migration is still in progress. We must just wait. They have to do background checks, health checks etc, etc.

I agree Roby, if we are going to meet up at the Island, we should exchange email addresses, as well as mobile numbers. It would be great for a few of us to get together at the track, and at least have an ale together, (that goes for any other forum member that is attending). It seems like a long way away, (time wise), but time has a habit of moving quickly when it comes to planning these things, like you said Roby. Helen will be here by then, I am sure she will love her first visit to a live race. I must plan my Holidays for that time, but it may mean flying over now, as I will most likely only get a week off, as that is the start of our busy season. I would like to drive over, but may have to fly and hire a car for the week. Oh, well, as long as we get there, I am not too fussed. Anyone else planning to go, send me a PM.

Corny, it's one of the more picturesque locations in the country - beautiful green rolling hills, lots of creeks etc. (watercrossings for the rally cars :) ), fairly temperate climate. It's not far from Byron Bay which is the eastern-most point on the mainland and is a bit of a surfie/hippie haven. Kyogle is fairly alternative too, not sure what the old hippies there will think of racecars blasting through their idylic nirvana, but hey :D

Bumpidy bump.

Just thought I'd make one of those 'round up' posts that every other bugger seems to :p : Not really paid any attention to what's been going on during the off season, after getting the new car most of my time is spit between that, watching football, working and doing college stuff. In any other spare time I never feel like doing anything more tacing than slouching in front of the telly.

Still can't wait for the GP season to begin (whenever that is, never seem to pay attention to these things), and the weekend after next I've got my first event of the season (doing a bit of sprinting) which will hopefully go smoothly (if I don't hit anything and the car doesn't break then I consider it a success :D )

Hope all is well everywhere, I'm off to do some college work :(

You can get helmets airbrushed over here for about £250. Although you have to buy the helmet yourself they then do whatever you want, or can just fit their own design within a set of criteria.

Was thinking about getting it done for my car helmet but then realised that the spray job would cost as much as the helmet itself and I could spend that money on other stuff (like women and drink)

Hi folks,

Bit of news this end - I'll be keeping a bit more of an eye on you for the next few weeks than recently as I have a little more time on my hands after being made redundant. Unfortunately the recession has bit and a bunch of us have lost our jobs (I design heating & ventilation for buildings), so it's back to jobhunting for a while.

In better news, my karting team scored their best-ever result at the weekend (it looks rather like this: http://web.me.com/chris.simpson/NORTHERN_MUNKEE_MEDIA/Best_of_2008.html - although I don't feature in any of those races), so a piece of good news there.

Sorry about your job Pat, anything to do with the construction industry is tricky at the moment (I got made redundant in January but was luck enough to find a new job almost straight away).

Good to hear about the karting though, it's always good when you break new ground and better yourself. Personally I am delighted to have got around Castle COmbe in a time quicker than my Dad last Saturday, even if I did manage to spin the car a bit during the morning run ;)

Has anyone on here done a track day before? I did one on Monday (my third one) at Phillip Island. Had an absolute ball. Semi-seriously considering a track bike so I'm not so worried about throwing my roadbike into the bushes. Wouldn't mind doing an Australian Superbike School course.

Be careful.....

I did a trackday at the Island once and ended up club racing for a few seasons before racing Superstock for a while.

When the bug bites it bites hard!

PS: I threw away my Triumph Daytona 955i on my first trackday at the Island coming onto the front straight.

I'd love to have a trackday in my car (especially as the MSA License means I can go to 'test days') but a) it'll cost me a fair bit just to get there and b) I'm not really worried about having my own accident, more getting caught up in someone elses :D

So I'll stick to sprinting the old man's car for the minute

Some of us old farts get out and have a go too :p

A mate loaned me a CBR1000RR for a two-day session at Phillip Island late last year - no timing, photography or video permitted under the insurance conditions of the organiser (private booking) but a friend was marshalling and had a camera that takes video :)

My best laptime was 1m56s (yep we got around that too; someone had left a transponder receiver on the pit wall and it happened to be the same brand/model as what the bike was wearing).

Oops had the permissions set incorrectly. It's me through T12 at PI.

Here's another one, Desmosedici in the same place. The way it leapt out of the corners was incredible, I was quicker over a lap because I went into corners hotter than him but it was still fun when I got to dice with him (and the SOUND it made, wow).

That Duc does sound awesome. It's cool winding up onto the straight though there was a dude on a new Fireblade twice ran off coming onto the straight and managed to save big sideways hitting a puddle trying to get back on the track.
Do you have a favourite part of the track? I always liked Honda corner and MG corner for some reason but it's all fun.

Hayshed for sure. Absolutely flat up through the gears out of Siberia and often a good passing opportunity at Lukey Heights (on the outside to block down the hill into MG).

Turn 12 is good fun too.

Like Eastern Creek (used to ride there a lot), Turn 1 is the key to a really fast lap. You have to be brave

Honda is a bit of a bogey for me, had three trips up the exit in two days (rule was to head into the pit then wait for clearance to go back out pit exit). The CBR has Marchesini wheels, Ti exhaust, raceglass etc. and is a rocket, but the brakes felt a bit wooden to me and when hard on the brakes into Honda I never really felt completely comfortable (but they were no problem into MG, work that one out).

Looks like we can blame the Chinese for the current epidemic…..
2007 - Chinese year of the Chicken - Bird Flu Pandemic devastates parts of Asia

2008 - Chinese year of the Horse - Equine Influenza decimates Australian horse racing

2009 - Chinese year of the Pig - Swine Flu Pandemic kills hundreds of pigs/humans around the globe.

Outlook for 2010 is somewhat of a worry. It is the Chinese year of the Cock.

Do you have a favourite part of the track? I always liked Honda corner and MG corner for some reason but it's all fun.

My favourite bits are doohan into the southern loop (weeeeee!!!), then out through the bass straight left-hander (really scary-fast corner) into honda, then up to siberia, the hayshed (watch the camber change!), over lukey (getting that bit right is just sublime) into mg (always seem to be over cautious into that one) then out through 11 and 12 hard on it, down the shute onto Gardiner - then do it all over again! :)

It's better than disneyland when the weather is on your side - I have been there 4 times (for track days) for a total of 8 days, and am batting a 50/50 average for dry v wet track time. Being where it is the weather can change in a minute. I still venture out for a splash to really scare the e out of myself - corsa diabolo's don't have much tread on the sides - but it is amazing how much grip there is out there in the wet.

Honourable mention goes to Mac Park (mount Gambier SA), lots of fun and very technical.

The Geert Timmer corner, last chicane of the circuit. When you walk up this 'flying' grandstand, you can follow the bikes half of the circuit

That's pretty cool Corny. That Geert Timmer corner sounds like turn one (Doohan corner) and Siberia at Phillip Island where you can see a good half to two-thirds of the circuit. Makes for good viewing value.

I know it's been said before a few times but I just want to talk up how good this forum is. I've been reading from a couple lately and the amount of tripe spouted on them is incredible. So much brainless opinion posed as fact. Even when opinions on here are biased, there's at least some thought and effort goes into explaining them and arguments are generally kept to the topic at hand - personal insults are thankfully rare.
So keep up the good work guys!

This is the map of the TT-campings. I'm always at number 14

If you want to have a good rest, then you should not go to the campings lying on the road between number 18 and 22. This is the road people take between the circuit and the city, so sure you will hear a lot of drunken people and burning bikes in your trying-to-sleep! I always sleep at number 14, that's one of the little normal campings you have on the road. If you want to have a laugh and see some freaky things, go to campings number 15, 17, 18, 19 and 20.. If needed more help on the campings, ask me please

I hope to catch up on the races (Assen MotoGP, Donington WSB) and do the points on Tuesday 30th June.

The next day I'm off to France, to compete in a 24-hour kart race at Le Mans (!), so again will be away til Tuesday July 7th. I'll then catch up with the MotoGP race from Laguna and do those League & Pickems points a little later than usual.

BEER BY SEVEN YEAR OLDS

A handful of 7 year old children were asked 'What they thought of beer'. Some interesting responses, but the last one is especially touching.

'I think beer must be good. My dad says the more beer he drinks the prettier my mum gets.'
--Tim, 7 years old

'Beer makes my dad sleepy and we get to watch what we want on television when he is asleep, so beer is nice. '
--Mellanie, 7 years old

'My Mum and Dad both like beer. My Mum gets funny when she drinks it and takes her top off at parties, but Dad doesn't think this is very funny.'
--Grady, 7 years old

''My Mum and Dad talk funny when they drink beer and the more they drink the more they give kisses to each other, which is a good thing.'
--Toby, 7 years old

'My Dad gets funny on beer. He is funny. He also wets his pants sometimes, so he shouldn't have too much.
--Sarah, 7 years old

'My Dad loves beer. The more he drinks, the better he dances. One time he danced right into the pool.'
--Lilly, 7 years old

'I don't like beer very much. Every time Dad drinks it, he burns the sausages on the barbecue and they taste disgusting.'
--Ethan, 7 years old

'I give Dad's beer to the dog and he goes to sleep.'
--Shirley, 7 years old

AND THE BEST RESPONSE

'My Mum drinks beer and she says silly things and picks on my father. Whenever she drinks beer she yells at Dad and tells him to go bury his bone down the street again, but that doesn't make any sense.'
--Jack, 7 years

Hi guys, just a quick one to say that I'm back and that the League/Pickems points are up-to-date following a couple of trips away.

The first was a trip to Glastonbury festival, which was excellent.

The second was a trip to Le Mans to compete in the kart version of the 24-hour race...we did alright but had a few problems dropping us back in the end (mid-pack in class - there were owner/driver karts as well as us in a hire-kart fleet, the owner/drivers were about 5s a lap faster than the fleet karts). A few photos may follow at some point.

Oh, and some good news this end: I have a new job! I'd been unemployed since April owing to the recession but things have now picked up :)

Doing Building Energy simulation and modeling, which at the present time should be a good industry to be in with all the climate change stuff being ever-more important. Quite a bit of crossover with my previous job (as a Building Services Design Engineer) so it fits together nicely.

It's a hell of a race, I always reserve the entire day to sit and enjoy all 6 hours of it. I haven't missed it since I first watched it in 1977 as an 8 year old :p There is literally never a dull moment.

I believe a Mr Bayliss will be making his V8 debut there this year, am I right in thinking?

He certainly is, partnering Dean Fiore in the Triple F Racing Commodore. It's a mid level car/package but a great introduction for Bayliss.

Wayne Gardner raced in V8 Supercars for a while too - he got the nickname 'Captain Chaos' after punting a few competitors here and there, but raced pretty solidly towards the front of the field.

Ooh, I hear ya. It must be special for me to sit in front of the idiot box to watch a tin top race for 6 hours! It is generally pretty dramatic. I hope Lowndes and Whincup don't win this year. Brocky was always my favourite and I'd love him to stay equal record holder of Bathurst wins in a row. Really hoping for a Holden win.

Yeah, Gardner had some pretty good speed but was a bit reckless. He was a hard charger on bikes and nothing changed once driving cars. I think Bayliss is already a bit frustrated that the best they can do on a good day is run mid pack, hence the temptation and enquiry around the WSB paddock at Imola. Hopefully Bathurst goes better for him than Phillip Island. Top 10 would be a dream.

Pretty chuffed with the Holden domination at Bathurst today, shame Bayliss wasn't part of it. At least his teammate tried to make him feel at home, wearing leathers at the pre-race driver announcements! :D Always love wet/dry races at the mountain, just hate so many safety cars. My mates are there, in the campground as usual - they are the ones with the generator and movie projector. We drew a bit of an audience last year, especially when we had "on any Sunday" showing. Classic racing movie! Lots of people brought their chairs and drinks and watched, too.

I will be at the Supers next year, though. Oh yes :lips:

How was the weekend guys? Not the best of races but sure you should've had a great weekend!

The weekend was very good thanks Corny. Seems a long time ago now. Our weekend was quite eventful in fact.

When we head to the Island, we tend to try and make a bit of a ride of it and go the back twisty way. It's only a couple of hundred kays, but it's better than riding the highway. However, the Friday weather was fairly poor with drizzly rain falling and just not very nice. So we got away about 9 in the morning from our usual meeting point at McDonalds for breakfast. After only about 10-15 minutes into the trip, disaster struck when one of our quartet crashed his bike - in a straight line! My old man was leading the group and decided we would pull over and put our wet weather gear on, unfortunately his timing was poor and it happened to be in the middle of a diesel spill and down went Pete and his lovely blue ZX9R. Fortunately Pete's first ever crash resulted in no more than losing a bit of bark off the knee tho the bikes didn't fare so well with big scrapes down the left hand side fairings and a big hole in the engine cover. It's an odd thing to watch as the following bike and luckily I stayed upright ok. So we called a dude who was travelling down with us in his car and he came picked the bike up in a trailer and took it back to his joint as he was local. Seems Pete will be travelling by car the rest of the trip.
The rest of the ride (down the highway it was now decided) was blissfully uneventful and we arrived at our weekend residence around lunchtime. We unpacked, got changed and took off to the track. Upon arriving at the circuit, it turns out that this years Australian GP is the worst organised I've ever experienced. We get to the parking area, "three day pass please" to be met with "we're not doing that this year". Since when? Since they decided they could make a mint from 'secure parking' charging $39 for three days instead of our $5 a day. Lucky for us we got the the track reasonably early to beat the lines of traffic queuing up for the parking. Then, as we decided to go general admission this year instead of a stand as previous years (gotta be able to afford to go on the Snowy Ride somehow!), we rock up to the ticket booth to be told power is out, you'll have to walk around to the circuit entrance to purchase tickets. Wonderful! So we finally make it into the circuit and get to enjoy the sights and sounds of the MotoGP men and the smell of the 2-stroke boys as well as the excitement of the local support races. At days end, time to head back to the bikes and off to the house. But what's this? Where's my key? I put it right in my pocket. Oh, crap. It's fallen out of my pocket (I suspect around MG corner). Glad I keep a spare in my wallet. So the first day has been a fairly average one.

Onto Saturday. Down to the track and into the parking area but no-one to pay? Turns out we went in the media entrance. Yay, free parking! Over to the admission gate where it's been decided to have 2 lanes for people with bags and 2 for people without and person manning each line. So I get in the 25m long bag carriers lane and by the time I get into the circuit the line has doubled. Impressive. Anyway, the rest of the day goes pretty well. The one heavy shower in the morning happened to hit while we were ogling the Aprilia RSV4 and other good looking models (mechanical and not ;) ) in the expo so that was well timed. I caught up with an old school mate and we wandered the track the rest of the day taking photos and just enjoying the on-track action. Back into the expo before we head off, I know, I'll change to my short camera lense and take a photo of Rossi's M1. Oh, sonofa, I've been using the short lense all day! You fricken idiot! :angryfire : So back to the house I go in a filthy mood. Have a drink and a lie down, feel a bit more relaxed. Get up and join in discussions with the fellas. Dinner is made, mmm tasty. Then, as my Dad is cooking, what is that popping noise? Oh crap, the hotplate is shorting out and smoking under the bench! Race out and pull the fuse, smoke disapates, lift the hotplate and discover a mass of melted wire. D'oh! After tea I headed into Cowes to get some fuel and have a wander and a looksee. It was a nice, relaxed atmosphere but I do miss the old wilder days of burnouts out the front of the Isle of White. Had a coffee and a wander around checking out some of the beautiful and not-so-pretty bikes parked up the street before calling it a night.

Sunday arrives with the excitement and anticipation of Stoner on pole and Rossi right alongside him. Ride to the circuit nice and early. Parking the same as Saturday but this time we had to pay - no problem. Into the track this time with more people on the gate, much quicker - no problem. Head to turn 12 to watch the morning warmups and final Australian Superbike support race. On the way, stopped off at the Lost and Found - "have you got a Kawasaki key like this one?". "Is this close enough?". You beauty! I got my key back! My brothers and I head around to turn 11 and MG corner to watch the 125's, move along to Lukey Heights for the 250's and squeeze in amongst the throngs at Siberia for MotoGP. The sun came out for the big race, life is good. Stoner wins his second race back and Rossi takes a huge step towards his 9th world title, the crowd is happy. But, as usual, we get screwed over by organisers again as the riders are directed off the circuit at Honda corner, only the 4th corner on the track. Why is it that we never get a full celebration lap? Even Qatar does and they don't even have anyone there to see it!

So overall, it was a fairly mixed bag of a weekend for me but overall, it was MotoGP so it was good! Can't wait for next year!

The wife came home early and found her husband in their bedroom making love to a very attractive young woman.
And she was somewhat upset. 'You are a disrespectful pig!' she cried. 'How dare you do this to me -- a faithful wife, the mother of your children! I'm leaving you I want a divorce right away!'
And the husband replied, 'Hang on just a minute love so at least I can tell you what happened.' 'Fine, go ahead,' she sobbed,' but they'll be the last words you'll say to me!'
And the husband began -- 'Well, I was getting into the car to drive home, and this young lady here asked me for a lift. She looked so down and out and defenceless that I took pity on her and let her into the car.
I noticed that she was very thin, not well dressed and very dirty. She told me that she hadn't eaten for three days.
So, in my compassion, I brought her home and warmed up the enchiladas I made for you last night, the ones you wouldn't eat because you're afraid you'll put on weight. The poor thing devoured them in moments.
Since she needed a good clean-up, I suggested a shower, and while she was doing that, I noticed her clothes were dirty and full of holes, so I threw them away.
Then, as she needed clothes, I gave her the designer jeans that you have had for a few years, but don't wear because you say they are too tight.
I also gave her the underwear that was your anniversary present, which you don't wear because I don't have good taste.
I found the sexy blouse my sister gave you for Christmas that you don't wear just to annoy her, and I also donated those boots you bought at the expensive boutique and don't wear because someone at work has a pair the same.'
The husband took a quick breath and continued - 'She was so grateful for my understanding and help that as I walked her to the door, she turned to me with tears in her eyes and said,
'Please .. Do you have anything else that your wife doesn't use?

Then, as she needed clothes, I gave her the designer jeans that you have had for a few years, butdon't wear because you say they are too tight.
