I think it's a good idea, but at the wrong time of the year/season. If they wanted it to become a regular thing, then it would be better at the end of the season. Like in MX & Enduro, who have MXoN and ISDE after their season has finished.

It's not meant to be a rally of nations per se, just something they arrange when they are not in WRC. And Rally Mexico has traditionally been arranged around this time of year.

Main goal of organisers is to keep the Rally Mexico team up and running, besides reminding everyone about the event. The date is more or less the same as it's been run in the last years.

Yes, I'm well aware of when Rally Mexico is; I don't need people telling me - I do watch the sport......FFS

calm down :) You suggested it should become a regular thing but I don't think that's what the organizers are aiming at.

Østberg off on SS4?

No results after SS3, but he should have completed already SS 5.

Is Fourmaux having problems or just cruising?

Haven’t been able to follow closely. Ridiculous amount of loss to Mads

Fourmaux seems to be using it as a recce for any future visit to Rally Mexico.

Current team scores if anyone cares:

I feel the the concept of competing for your nation have potential, but the mathematiscs need to be simplyfied.

My suggestions:
- 1 car from these classes: Rally2, Rally3, Rally4, Rally5
- In rally2 and 3; free choice of drivers
- In Rally4; must have a female driver.
- Rally5; car must have a junior driver under 20 years.

ClassWinner gets 1 point, 2nd 2 points and so on.
Lowest score in 3 of 4 classes take glory.

Maybe Rally needs to move venue.
Sponsors need to pay for transport of cars and crew to rally site.

Feel free to comment with your ideas.

I mean, obviously this is just for fun, nobody is actually competing seriously or representing a country. The drivers are completely random, some have WRC drivers, some have retired drivers or juniors. Cars are also random, even through weighting system.

I find this similar to Race of Champions or something and I think the concept should be even more similar, everyone would compete in the same car, and in multiple cars. First do one stage in Rally3, then Rally2, then Rally1 or something.

I bet the most important of the event has just ended (or is maybe still ongoing) in the form of the after party.

I dont think this concept has any serious future.

This weekend's Rally of Nations was just Rally Mexico under another name and used to promote the event back to WRC and to attract some 'name' drivers.

So better watch a bit more or rethink the way you write...

You were the one saying "but at the wrong time of the year/season".

Haven’t been able to follow closely. Ridiculous amount of loss to MadsQuite embarrassing for him. Nobody would care if he's beaten by Mads in this sort of event, but 2mins down before Mads' puncture, not even close on 1 proper stage or the 2nd passes through....

Hardly a good confidence booster for him after his start of the year...

Fast Eddie WRC

Fourmaux was really there to learn the stages and to do that he had to get through them and not go and crash or break the car. Maximum speed was never the aim.

Ostberg has been there many times and has hugely more experience on gravel. Ironically it was he who said he had to prove something here and try to show he can return to the WRC.
