I dont understand it...
I do. Before the rally he said he was going to make a choice soon about his future. When an interviewer asked him what to choose between doing the entire IRC season or a few WRC rallies in a WRC, he said: "none of both!"
That said enough I think.
And if Rosetti wins, well driven. I saw he was fast for his first Ypres but we've seen last year where that can end. :D

This really was a fantastic rally. If fact, this is the kind of competition that we need in the WRC. Until then, it's not worth following the WRC. I never thought that I would say that . . . but that's how I feel.
Congratulations to Luca Rosetti . . . he won the Salento Rally last weekend and now Ypres. Fantastic drive.

It is logical. Cols must think about the points of Belgian Rally Championship, where he has now a big lead. ;)

You are absolutely right. WRC was going down the drain for many years and now it's nothing more than pure s-h-i-t (I'm sorry for bad language, but I don't know how to express my thoughts in a more polite words).
If the guys at http://www.autoklub.pl are right Dimitar Iliev is back on the first place in the European Championship:
1. Iliev 30,
2. Sołowow 29,
Travaglia 29,
4. Garcia Ojeda 24,
5. Navarra 20,
6. Isik 18,
7. Vouilloz 17,
8. Czopik 15,
Jean-Joseph 15,
10. Sebalj 13.

Press release from Ypres Rally
Cols, Colsoul and Lefevre disqualified from Ypres
The reason for the disqualification is technical non conformity, as the bodyshell of their Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 9s did not correspond with the homologation. Specifically, some reinforcement bars found in the side of the door on the road car were missing on their rally cars. Cols and Colsoul have confirmed that they will not appeal the decision.

Thank you for sharing the news. What a dramatic rally. Even after it is finished the drama is still going on :)
PLuto, you have a mistake in the ERC standings. Dani Sola is not competing in ERC, but Georgi Tanev is.

About Tsjoen's career retirement.
I've found a article in Belgium language, and I ask if any Belgian forum member would be able to translate it for english, It looks that Pieter is talking about Madeira...

What a GREAAAAAAAAAAAAT rallyweekend!!! Just got back, and have to say: never saw a rally like that, with so much drama and excitement!!! I don't know if you know, but here in Belgium, you can follow the events happening on the stages directly on the radio, which is a quite cool feature and helps spectators being right within the action all the time!!!
For me Loix, Casier and Rosetti would be fast, I wasn't far from right. What a GREAT performance of Rosetti, winning outright in Ypres, very very good of him, even he drives a peugeot (sorry Tom ;) ), I'm a fan!!! Also great driving by Loix, showing the potential of the Polo, but he had nooo luck. The record victorys of 4 holds stand, a pitty for Loix.
A big surprise was the speed of Ojeda, really good too!
Than some comment on the Colsoul Mitus. Mr Colsoul himself had been lobbying like hell to get S2000 out of the N4 category in the belgian championship and he succeeded. Then he start a program in the Belgian Championhip with Cols driving a GROUP A Mitsu. Now he is in Ypres, sooo happy on the radio that Cols beats the S2000 in an N4. Sorry, but how Hypocrite you can be??? His team deserves DQ, even though it is for something quite stupid (nevertheless, against the rules).
One thing I'm afraid of, I can't see an event next year as good as the one this year... :-)

Oh yeah, I read somewhere that Ypres is nothing but long straights. I don't think you know Ypres very well if you say that. It's true that it is a rally from junction to junction. But, between these junctions it is muuuuuuch more than just straight lines. ;)

Ypres is pretty twisty, real fast corners on narrow and slippy roads, not easy at all.
Enjoyed the rally (even with those S2000 cars http://www.motorsportforums.com/forums/images/icons/icon12.gif). Have some pics on my website.

This morning I read in a Belgian paper that Rosetti did not want to start the rally on thursday, because he thought the stages were to dangerous to crash his car. Afther his team convinced him to start anyway, he was able to win the event, like we all saw. In the same article they quote him telling this round was a preparation for next year, where he would do a ful IRC season!!! :D :D :D

Probably its true ;)
From IRC site
Rossetti commented: “This rally has been a real investment for my future career. It's been a dream event: we've had no real problems and a fantastic car with fantastic tyres throughout both days. It was probably the most difficult rally I have ever done as I could not relax for one minute: the pressure was on me all the time. “
