Some news about a possible Mitsubishi return:

https://www.rallye-magazin.de/wrc/artikel/d/2018/10/10/kehrt-mitsubishi-in-die-rallye-wm-zurueck/

The article says that the interest in rallying in Japan has grown a lot since the return of Toyota to WRC. Mitsubishi is obviously interested in returning as well. Nothing concrete till now, but itīs said that their peopole are already taking part in the technical meetings with the FIA.

Weird... I thought that Mitsubishi is only interested in hybrid and electric cars now...

Maybe that's a part of the future of WRC?

If the news is right, that’s splendid for the WRC. Btw, Mitsubishi was bought by Nissan two years ago and is now part of the Renault/Nissan partnership; the brand previous orientation towards alternative energies can change a bit, once that role is now mainly taken by Nissan.
