Just home from the Monaro Stages rally held around Cooma in the Snowy Mountains region of NSW.
90km competitive with the winning team doing the event in 40min. Average speed over 134kmh. The roads were smooth Shire roads, not a pothole to be seen. Not challenging but suited the drivers with plenty of horsepower. First time a rally being held here for 50 years.
We were running inside the top 10 until 5km from the end of the last stage there was a RGL over crest which actually tightened and we went off as well as 4 of the other top 5 cars. We ended up getting back on the road and lost 4 mins but finished eventually 14th. Scoring enough points to finish the season 2nd overall in the local Series.
Was awesome to run in the Windfarm with the fast flowing roads. Plenty of locals out spectating with BBQ's on each stage.
Now to find a tyre sponsor for next season and have a go for the Series win.
