I think it is quite early regarding season 2018. Lot of drivers told that they would like, but still... Also there is question if it is necessary to have specific thread for this. Maybe it should be better to call it "2018 News and results" as the info about drivers is usually the major part of this thread...

With evo X?
Yes. He said that he was so happy this season, the atmosphere is so much better in the ERC, everybody helps the others, he made great friends with Kajto, Melegari, Remennik etc. So he will try to defend his ERC2 title.

4x times Hungarian Champion Norbert Herczig has announced today that they are in talks with their sponsors of stepping up to the ERC next year, and are at an advanced stage in the project. They hope that they can put everything together for the start of December, if not, they will stay in the national championship.

Happy to hear that. I still dream about the best driver (or even more drivers) of each country competing in ERC. I think of Paolo Andreucci, Raimund Baumschlager, Eyvind Brynildsen, Vincent Verschueren, Pedro Meireles and all these guys... :D But someone has to pay for that for sure...

Baumschlager could afford ERC i think, but he doesn´t want to, even if he is present at many ERC rallies with his own team BRR.

He mentioned several times in the last 2 years that he want an international saison before he retires from rallying, but all depends on his sponsors. If skoda really stops the support in austria because of the wrc's, it is not a total unlikely scenario imho.

I dont believe in it. In reality, he doesnt want to compete internationally anymore...

ADAC 3 Stadte Rallye this weekend where I believe we find out the result of the Adam Cup. Winner of that gets a JERC programme with Opel next year.
Don't know how the other seat will be decided?

Just for reminder... Last year Huttunen won the finale at 3-Städte Rallye, Kamenec was second and Kristensson third. Huttunen is heading to works Hyundai team, Kamenec did his first R2 season in CZ with some reasonable results (he was 2nd overall in Rallysprint Serie behind very experienced Smékal with far stronger DS3 R3T Max) and Kristensson surprised everybody two weeks a go on Liepaja stages. One can say that this cup for sure has its quality.
Sadly this year we don't have anyone of such level in the game.

I think that Ksitsensson and Madsen are fighting for the win...

Kristensson and Madsen can both win the cup this year. Kristensson is the favourite - only needs to be fourth or better, even if Madsen wins. However Madsen had to sit out for 2 rallies earlier in the year due to a back injury after a crash in a Danish Championship rally. Madsen has won 4 cup rallies this year - Kristensson 2 (the 2 where Madsen did not participate).

It was announced yesterday that Tom Kristensson will be part of the ADAC Opel Junior Team next year. To be honest I don't understand this decision because Jacob Madsen was faster than him in every round they competed against each other. But as always there are many other factors which play a role in these decisions (money, media skills...). I still wish Tom all the best for the ERC Junior championship next year.
giů tutto!

Maybe Madsen wasn't able to pay the price about the prize.
The prize is not a factory seat free of charge, a driver need to bring 150000€ for the team. For a German driver ADAC will pay about half from this, but a driver abroad needs to pay it all by himself.

And indeed it's not a free seat. Everyone brought money. Griebel with his sponsors and ADAC Bergkvist got support of Opel Sweden etc..
