KKS

Interesting how timing system works in case of jumpstart. At normal condition time start count at start time 10:00:00 for example and synchronizing flying finish record time when car cross a line? 10:10:45.2 for example (clear stage time 10:45.2) . And when driver start earlier he get +10sec penalty but... stage time isn't clear? 09:59:58 start but flying finish counting time with a normal start time.

Can be very patchy around here with the hills and valleys. I'm on Dyfi now. In the car park I had a very on and off 4G signal. On the stage on the other side of a hill high up I have a perfect 4G signal. Same on pretty much every stage.

Toyota not so good on the whole this rally but he is doing a good job relative to his teammates. I think the tire manufactorers are allowed 1 joker/year for both gravel and tarmac and they can`t change back after that.

No reason to panic with Kalle. This is just the difference between top level and national level.

At Latvia Kalle was driving as a home event, he has been driven there more than Finnish roads. Pontus was there at his first time and the target was just getting familiar with the conditions for the Rally Poland, not driving against Kalle.

I guess this year has opened the eyes of Kalle to see this sport in completely different angle. In Italy (CIR) he noticed the challenge of the tarmac and this experience in Wales is a good lesson also. Now he definitely knows the level and he knows that it needs a lot of work to get to the top.

During the next three to four years we will see the results if he is the young talented driver which almost everyone thinks he is.

Yes, in fact Kalle was bit faster. Both of them was in TGS cars, both in new roads, they never driven before, Kalle lost rally by 9.8 sec, while lost ~17.6sec in one stage because of power steering issues (if I remember correctly). Does Pointus drive not flat out?, I think so - it was preparation for Poland, did Kalle drive not flat? Who know, but he never had accident on gravel, so could be. Kalle is fast already, maybe clock not always shows that, but it's only due lack of experience.

they have fast quick release brake lines at each wheel,so you don't loose brake fluids.Probably removed disc and pads to don't block inside the caliper.

Thought the redbull highlights were pretty good.
Currently into the third night in the van... have loved it and got to two stages and a regroup each day.
Saw the cars in Hafren when they were on the limiters at about 130(?) it was ridiculously fast!
Had a tenner on Evans before it started.

Come and see these cars next year if you already haven’t as they are just so fast.

Those Mickey Mouse stages ... only troubles, no real driving.

You can actually gain/loose more s/km on those than in "proper" stages. Part of the show. Rallying is about different conditions. No F1

Brilliant to have back (some) night stages, those should be regular fixture on many more rallies. As COD said, rallying is about different conditions and they are yet another variety that provide opportunity to distinguish the great among the drivers from the mediocre.

Teemu Suninen and Mikko Markkula were forced to retire on the liaison to SS15 with an intermittent electrical issue. The pairing will restart tomorrow under Rally 2 regulations.

Too bad there went their hopes of any points. After yesterday's puncture, they were already back to 8th place or something, but then the power steering broke and then the electrical fault.

Sun 09:56 - Drivers' title update
Here are the permutations as things currently stand. Second for Neuville here and a Power Stage win would put him on 183pts. Third for Sébastien Ogier and zero on the Power Stage would put him on 213pts. That means Neuville could still win the title if he wins in Australia, scores maximum Power Stage points and Ogier scores zero at the final round.
