the air extractor at the back of the fiesta is massive and protruding quite a lot... I wonder how much it will stay intact on gravel rally. Or even tarmac rally with big cuts.
Anyway good to have a new season starting with quite a few unknown subjects, it makes it the most interesting one in ages! Look forward to this season and hope to see great battle. May the best driver & copilot win...

No, they aren't amateurs. An amateur would had not used the shot, if he/she didn't like it. They had to pixelate and track it!
But yeah, it's really odd. It's not like the car had massive Monster stickers on it

A spectator who is that stupid would've put himself in a bad position in any stage, no matter how wide or narrow it was. That can't be helped.
I for one like this start to the Monte and watching that onboard footage, because it's so narrow and challenging for the drivers. With the new machinery it's an even bigger test so great for the viewers. Just a shame this has happened and somebody hasn't told the spectator to move to a safer place, as he obviously didn't have the mental capacity to think for himself...

Have tyo admit that I've ended up in a stupid spot or two. This was one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lGFNbeQ4t8Q
Chap in a blue coat that's to the left of the car at 9 seconds. The spot wasn't too bad for watching, but there was no decent escape route. When the accident started I turned to run, went a few feet and there was a fence there. Tried getting back towards the stage but slipped just as the car hit a tree. Very, very close to being a Darwin Award. My old man was stood next to me and didn't move a muscle throughout, just waited to see which way the car was going. Learnt a lesson that day because we'd noticed that it wasn't the best spot and had agreed to move "when we've finished this cup of coffee".

There is a person in green high vis vest in the onboard, not 3m from the black spot where the guy seems to be sitting... steward not doing their job?

Nope, you're mistaken.
4 meters? Incident was shown on live TV?
Lets take some psoitives out from here. Tänak fastest on first split, Ogier fastest on second split and neuville Fastest at the finish, sounds like quite equal cars :)

I'm not arguing with the sentiment... just the timing. If the guy suffers worst case scenario, I for one wouldn't want to look back and think I had called him stupid.
Why not? He wouldn't be less stupid just because he was dead. If we continue to dance around the issue of standing in a stupid spot when the worst case scenario happens then people won't learn.

Or a media-guy.
I tend to use vest as well when I am filming.

Now it seems promoters are flagging the videos on YouTube, and for me that cannot be good :(.
This is just such a stupid behaviour, it`s 2017 for God`s sake, you can`t hide unwanted stuff anymore, just don`t make your selve anymore stupid than you allready are, yes you - RMC orgs and officials...

For the first time ever, I have to agree. No matter how badly the spectator was hurt, he was being a complete idiot and a rallyhater for putting the sport at such risk.
Before we all know the facts, comments like this are inappropriate. What if this was a kid (unfortunately it looked like that to me) left by stupid parents?

So, we have 1 or 2 involved people in that accident?

It's their copyright, perfectly reasonable that they tug the footage. Plenty of other broadcasters do that with their footage, why should RBMG allow these videos to be live just because someone was hurt?

Don't know yet for sure.
