Hi all.

I am off to Silverstone for the first day of testing tomorrow. It should be fun.

Thought I would start a thread in case anyone wants to discuss anything.

What's the view like from Farm or Village grandstands? Weekend tickets for next year are relatively cheaper at the moment

I like the view from those. You get to see the loop section there and then the cars run off down the back straight. I watched some of the Endurance Championship from there.

Mercedes running this year's car for testing and 2014 car for Pirelli development. Interesting.

Interesting Pirelli development here. Given that next seasons tyres will be different sizes etc...

I have a pit walk later too. All for £25. Only thing is that teams put out last year's cars for that. Guess it's only to be expected.

I thought they had to use the 2014 car because Wherlein was driving it, or something like that?

Going to Silverstone 2 days after the British GP? Interesting  :p:

It was £10 to go to testing, about £140 for the GP. You are also not surround by 100,000 people :p

Plus you get to see F1 cars going round for the whole day instead of 2 hours, and no traffic jams getting in or out. It's good value. Unless you happen to go to a test, as I once did, where only Midland F1 turned up - not likely these days with the limited tests available.

I used to be staying at Vinaros ,Spain every winter for 3 months .Used to send a request for 2 tickets for test day saying I was a jour no .Would you believe they were baffled by bullshit and I always managed to get pit and paddock passes for testing each year at Valencia Have stood on pit wall with Montoya,Rosberg,Coulthard, and many more too Bullshit can get you lots of places.Once I was at British GP and wanted to get to infield ,I was stopped and asked for my pass I said I am a truckie and sorry but I left my pass in truck .OK go on and try not forget it next time
