I think it has already been mentioned in the WRC 5 thread but it probably should have it's own now. Just saw this article on autosport: http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/124614/new-official-wrc-game-details-revealed

I will remain sceptical until anyone actually plays it. Is Kylotonn Racing Games a new developer? Or was 5 made by the same people?

The first details of the WRC 6 official game based on the 2016 World Rally Championship have been released, with changes promised based on feedback from the 2015 version.

The new game, which will be released in the Autumn, will continue to feature the main WRC, WRC2 and Junior WRC classes in an "improved format", with "exciting new features to be announced", but the first key details to come from developer Kylotonn Racing Games focus on making the stages in the game more challenging.

"The experience from WRC 5 helped the team to completely understand rallying fans' expectations," said game director Alain Jarniou.

"Roads were too wide in WRC 5? They will be narrow and bumpier in WRC 6.

"Stages were sometimes too short? We created new longer stages, and reworked everything to make them more challenging."

The WRC series of games faces increased competition from Dirt Rally, the latest version of which focused heavily on producing a hardcore simulation of stage rallying but does not feature the fully-licensed world championship.

Kylotonn added that it "collected feedback from WRC fans and the gaming community from the 2015 edition to raise the playing experience to a new level of realism and excitement".

WRC 6, which will be available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, will continue to support the eSports online competition that is running alongside the real championship this year, with the developer promising "improvements to access and format" on the new title.

It will also include Rally China, which returns to the WRC for the first time since 1999 this year, taking the number of events in the game to 14.

Hrmmmmmmmmm

Rally China is Tarmac... So let's see how they have it in the game... Perhaps they GoPro'd or google mapped the roads and just made some stages

Jack4688`

Well the stages are fake - just a stretch of road that is made to look like the real thing - so it probably doesn't matter, they'll just make it look like the real location but invent their own layouts

There is no hope for this series.

I'm surprised they found enough people that had played WRC5 to give them feeback! Surely they mean "we saw what Dirt was like and realised we had to up our game"

AndyRAC

Just accept it, they can't get it right. Somebody needs to tell them to give up....

100% correct. Frankly, its amazing that they are persisting with the same shite that has been a total embarrassment for years. Can you imagine if Codemasters got the licence for the WRC? Dirt Rally totally changed the landscape, but these guys are just fast asleep at the wheel.

For god sakes it is really hard to fail so many times.

Why not keep developing the game until Feb 2017 when they know the 2017 calendar as well as cars, some physics about the 2017 cars, sounds and liveries and launch a 2017 season version of the WRC game in March!!!!!!(???????)

Why not develop a plan to ditch these hopeless developers and sue them for damages to mankind?

I don't agree. WRC6 is a good game. Still worse than WRC by Evolution but better than Milestone's WRC.
Kylotonn make a new step since WRC5. The 6 is more funniest and give more good sensations. Stages are more realistic than last year.

That's the mistake I've made with WRC5. They won't have me now.

Do they still give times to your opponents according to yours? Or their two neurons connected for some reason and change at least that idiocity?

Still worse than WRC by Evolution?; that was 10+ years ago. That, is quite simply unacceptable. Give the rights to a company who know what they are doing - and what their customers want.

I must say that they have improved a lot from wrc5 and I actually enjoyed it. Of course it's not the perfect game but not the totally crap it seemed watching videos from youtube.

What I don't understand is the AI times. They're still giving very very strange times when you play it.

Also I've read in a blog that sometimes you can drive a SSS with another contender and you may find it after you in the time sheet but in the actualr race he arrived before! lol

It's terrible. Against my better judgement, I bought it yesterday. Played for about 20 minutes, then switched off. The co-driver calls are lamentable, laughable. It is a truly awful game. Codemasters must get the WRC license.

So narrower and more challenging stages for Wrc 7, with some being around 15 minutes long. Maybe they are starting to listen. Maybe.

That's nice, but if the handling isn't sorted out it would just tedious IMO...

Looks good.

These special stages, which are longer than 20 km and last for more than 15 minutes of gameplay, are certain to sorely test the players

10-minute stages often get me exhausted, 15-minute segments are going to be hellish for me...
