Well I'm not saying one is better than the other. They'd have to compete in somewhat equal machinery in the same championship before I could give that verdict.

I am however saying that in Robert's defense, he had an easier time at the level Lukyanuk is driving now with less years of rally experience... And this is someone who came in from a completely different category of motorsport all together.

Hope Lukyanuk can stop his crashing soon because he really deserve some results with his speed.

It's bit of OT, but.... Robert's situation is unique and same time sad and inspiring. He is superb driver, and he could be in top in every motorsport discipline, but Alexey had passion for rally, it's enough for saying so, to see how he drive and how he speak about it - every time all things are normal for him, he just drive, and when he crashes (unfortunately too often) - there are tears in his eys. He could be that personality, which lack nowadays in rally scene.
I think Robert like compete, no matter where - in F1, rally stage, or circuit, while Luky is true rally guy. Thats why so many rally fans exided about his driving instead of Robert's. Actually I would love to see Robert in WorldRX, I think he could achieve there good results.

Biggest surprise though for me on this rally was Katjo. Okay he had some powersteering issues but the pace was never there and he got shown the way home by Sirmacis and Luky. Not a single stage win this weekend.

Yes, I agree with you. It doesn't happen very often that Kajto comes back from a rally without even a single stage win. I was also disappointed with his speed on this event. But still, thanks to his consistency and reliability, Kajto leads the championship quite comfortably and the next round is in Poland.

Here's Kajto in action in Rally Estonia, the gravel festival of speed:

i hope these japanese guys find a better and safer hobby.

They said pacenotes were too difficult to write, braking points too hard to find, the roads too fast and their instructors were not there to help them :)

Kajto's steady run earned good points ... and maybe he had an idea what might happen to Lukyanuk...

Cool video. Love his maverick style and attitude. Just a shame he flew too close to the sun there on that jump.
