The first round of the most diverse touring car championship in the world, the Swedish Touring Car Championship, have now had their first round of the season at Sturup Raceway. New for this season is that anyone can watch the series online, be it with Swedish commentating though. Enjoy! :)

Nice race. The Volvo looks pretty good, that Peugeot of Stureson was going well. Feel sorry for Tommy Rustad who had those pitstop troubles. I see Carl Rosenblad's BMW is still decked out in Team RAC colours.

Yes, Rosenblad wasn't going to race this season, but when they added Sturup (his local track) to the calendar for the first time ever he couldn't resist and dragged the car out for a spin ;)

Yeah it was a good race. I liked the way the wheel was trying to leave the pits before the rest of the car lol.

That's because the car was part painted, part vinyl wrap. Removing the wrap would have left random orange-painted panels.

Interesting circuit they're racing on there. A shame we haven't seen more of this series in the past, it seems to be one of the strongest outside of the WTCC judging by the driving talent. Dahlgren, Goransson, Rudholm and Storckenfeldt all should have had good single seater careers, but they've settled for the next best thing.

Too bad that Göransson and Rudholm got eliminated in a crash in qualifying though. Two bent chassis! In fact I found this race in particular to be a bit tame, it's usually a lot more action packed. Oh well Knutstorp will be better, easier to overtake there... (with 11 rounds this season chances increase that we will get more races of the entertaining sort)

Yeah it was a good race. I liked the way the wheel was trying to leave the pits before the rest of the car lol.

Not so fun for me who was going to drive the Audi RS4 Saftey car that the wheel hit home after the race ;)

Yes, I intend to visit the STCC. As well as the DTCC, WTCC and the DTM.

Pictures will be avaliable in the usual place..

Race 2 is now avalible, a bit more lively than Race 1 I think. The first 45 seconds of the video are black, but after that the program commences.
